What a great surprise! After a three-day boat expedition between El Nido and Coron, choosing Casa Mario's turned out to be the best decision ever. The staff was very welcoming and professional. As soon as we arrived, they offered us a cup of tea and water, and we were given chairs to relax in while the check-in was completed. The room was amazing—well-decorated, with a nice shower and air conditioning.

An amazing stay at Alon: rainshower, comfortable bed, impeccable attention to detail and freshly-made delicious breakfast! With the rooms decorated with local art and with the gorgeous scenery of the rice fields right outside, I felt immersed in peace and nature. But what really made my stay special is the attention and care by the wonderful hosts Pierre Yves and Carl. They really put their hearts and souls into making sure I felt at home! The location is perfect, away from the hustle and bustle of touristic spots, but close to the beautiful El Nido beaches.

This place is hidden gem. Away from the noise of Puerto Princessa, lies this beautiful small hotel. Staff is very kind and helpful. Restaurant creates delicious and tasteful meals from sunrise till sunset. Talking about sunset, this hotel has the best view on the entire island. It was so good that I proposed to my girlfriend purely because the views and setting ;)

The hosts were really friendly and so helpful with tours and everything. Additionally they helped with transportation, which was so nice. Rooms were nice with daily cleaning and new towels. Aircondition was also great. We were also supplied clean water and access to coffee for free.

Magnificent view from the swimming pool, there is a coffee machine, huge TV and bed in the room, super welcoming staff, offering us a free shuttle to the next hotel. Close to the busy area but not noisy. Everything was great and definitely worth to stay.

I had an amazing time in this hotel,Remy and Pau we're super attentive,very serviceable and always giving the best of them with a smile in their faces. Everything. The staff here were great, very friendly and very helpful, they went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as they could. The newly built rooms were beautifully designed. The facilities were also excellent, free scooter which was so handy, the pool was clean and a nice choice of breakfast and coffee every morning. We originally booked for 2 nights and stayed for 7 we were so happy with the accommodation. Its nicely situated between El Nido town and Lio beach. And let's not forget the free daily in-room massage, perfect after a long day out island hopping or the free access to the gym. Highly recommended.

We loved how beautiful everything was at Discovery Coron from the moment we arrived! The view from our Oceanview Suite was exceptional, the bed was huge and comfy. The provided bathroom amenities were lovely too. We packed light and the resort provided everything we needed. Everything was very clean, and service was moments away if we desired anything else. The food was good at both the Firefish Restaurant and Sinag, though we primarily ate at Firefish. The nightly food themes keep things interesting, and the included breakfast buffet was extraordinary! I ate the Mickey Mouse pancakes everyday and loved how fresh and fluffy they were, the fresh omelets were great too. If they have the watermelon juice my suggestion is fill up your water bottle for daylong refreshment! The swimming beach was great, with plenty of sun or shade options for spending the day. We particularly enjoyed the pool by the Sinag restaurant, we had it to ourselves one afternoon and it was lovely. We also did the day trip to Coron and it was well worth the price for a fun day of exploring, swimming, and excellent food. The evening movies poolside, and Karaoke room were also highlights of our stay. All in all an excellent experience and well worth our time and money.

Then we moved to the Water Villa towards the end of our stay - what an exceptional room to stay in. This place is amazing. We WILL be back. To all the staff members that helped make our stay pleasant: Khai, Jorge (driver), Josie, Dimple, Cly, Vivian, Ruth, Chris, John, Alvin, Mabelle, Beth, Shane, Ricky & Sharlyn. A beautiful Glamping experience in top class tents. The tents are spacious, beds are very comfortable and despite the heat, the air conditioning works great and is silent. The pool area is very cosy with its own bar, and the restaurant is definitely one of our favorite in the Philippines. But what makes the hotel above any other we stayed at is customer service. Mr Butch, Ioel, Marc and reception staff went far beyond expected duty to help with an issue we had with the dates of our reservation. Once again thank you so much.

I really enjoyed town, but nacpan and duli area also nice...

I really enjoyed town, but nacpan and duli area also nice places to stay! Lio is another nice spot to stay. Town is good if you like going out to eat, and see a lot of things But staying in lio, nacpan or duli is also nice if you want a more peaceful, quiet time. even sibaltan would be nice (check out the manta rays if you dive)

The wow factor was definitely at Twin Lagoons and Kayangan Lake. Loved swimming and snorkelling although coming from Australia, the corals and fish were a bit underwhelming. Plenty of cafes and restaurants in Coron Town. We especially liked the french restaurant Armihan Bistro, Poco Deli (next door to Epic Cafe) and Le Voyage. All catered for Gluten Free meals as well. Tuk Tuks are plentiful and easy to catch. 50 pesos for 2 peoples to take you anywhere within the town boundaries. We also walked to the hilltop lookout Mt Tapayas .. but beware, there's 720 steps to climb to get to the top from the car park!!!

We did the underground river tour.

We did the underground river tour. It was rainy but still worth it. It was one of the most unique experience for us to see how the river caves formed and all the different stalagtites and stalagmites formation Other attractions we would probably like to see is Honda Bay.

Absolutely!

Absolutely! San Vicente really flies under the radar compared to El Nido and Coron, but that’s part of its charm. It’s less crowded, more laid-back, and still boasts those stunning, unspoiled beaches—especially the 14-kilometer Long Beach, which feels like a hidden gem. The slower pace and warm, genuine hospitality from the locals really give it that authentic "island life" vibe. It’s perfect for people looking to relax, connect with nature, and avoid the more tourist-heavy scenes. Some even say it’s what El Nido felt like 10 or 15 years ago.

If you're looking for a beautiful tropical island to visit, put this one on your list. It's relatively uncrowded, the people are very pleasant and the vistas are jaw dropping. If you are a diver, and have an interest in WWII, you will find an incredible 11 Japanese wrecks to dive. I'd recommend Pirate Divers, they are very professional and very conservative when it comes to evaluating risks. They also know the wrecks like their second home. Coron is a bustling town with good food and pleasant people, but the beauty of the island is the back country. I liked it enough in December that I'm returning in February. To get around, I'd suggest renting a scooter. If you are new to powered two wheel vehicles stay out of Coron, and pay attention to the roads, there are some surprisingly tight turns. Otherwise, since it is relatively uncrowded you should be fine.

A delightful quiet backwater and so far less developed town. The beaches were beautiful and mostly clean. The town has plenty of activities to offer and places to eat. The whole place is walkable but you may want a Tuktuk or moped to visit further beaches.

If you intend to visit Palawan you need to be more informed than I was. The Philippines are a poor country. Accommodation is cheap and as such you get what you paid for - No hot water, some cockroaches, you cannot swim in the water because of the jellyfish, plenty of sandflies and no shop to get any relief medication. There is no way to move around unless you organize transfers that cost you as much as your accommodation. A must see if you would like to see the culture. We were unable to snorkel due to weather

El Nido has so many fun things to do, and we liked that...

El Nido has so many fun things to do, and we liked that while there were a plentitude of tourist options, we were not separated from local culture and activities that sometimes happens in other places. We were only there for four days, and we could have stayed another week. The beaches are beyond stunning, both the ones you can walk to and the ones that need a boat. The snorkeling was fantastic, the food options endless, and the vibe was chill and fun.

The calamian group of islands of which Coron is part of, is beautiful. And I hope all the measures to keep it pristine and unlittered will be successful always. There are many breathtaking sights. You would need a sizable budget though to be able to enjoy the boat tours which are wonderful. If you have the time, visit Culion. It is historical (a UNESCO site), and while the places to see could do a little tidying up, nevertheless, the history of that place invites reflection and inspires--many heroic people lived on that island. Kudos to the religious who have kept the place going since it was first established. The Culion museum should be your first stop.
