    The food and the people are amazing! The views are stunning. The beach is very very long and there's lots of activities to do. As a family we ate out every afternoon and evening, and we visited the local shops for breakfast, snack and accompaniment items to eat in our Villa. We walked everywhere, but there were local transport options available too, specifically the land train. The roads are steep in parts, and will get your heart pumping, but there's well thought out alternative routes you can use with steps or other cut throughs to get you from A to B in an efficient manner! We visited the marina a few times and went out on a boat to see the Dolphins and Caves.

    Faro was a welcome change from the intense crowds in Lisbon and Porto. It was also an easy pedestrian walking area with lots of shops and restaurants, though, for a weekend, many were closed. But Pigs and Cows Restaurante, GO! SO good. We were also near the old city which was pleasant to stroll through. And NO HILLS!

    Amazing beach’s avoid town center even if close to beautiful beaches that are stunning memories of true Algarve but the city itself is very poor , ugly and just a nonsense buildings old to new mixed with no likely or history and cultural care.     Very nice area, I especially liked the marina and enjoyed walking along the sea front. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and nice walk to near by locations along beach. Visited the fish market in Quarteira which was very bust and an experience, there was a fruit and vegetable market also.

    Amazing place lots of restaurants and bars but it is all spaced out if you have good legs this is no problem. Of course you can hire a car and drive out at night but if you want to drink you need to walk as we didn't see 1 taxi on our 9 night stay. Find accommodation near to Mareta beach as that's about central. Very young area lots of fit surfing people day and night which is great. There are 3 beaches within walking distance Tonel is the one for surfing if you can do!! Mareta beach is the nicest of the 3. There are many more you can drive to. The fort is interesting. Can be very windy as it is on the cliff top! We love the Algarve the whole lot of it I am addicted to it.

    Aljezur is a great location to visit if you like nature, surfing, good food, a slower pace of life. I would recommend staying in Aljezur, getting a car to drive around to different beaches and villages where you can find good restaurants. In the evening, in Aljezur, always book ahead a table.
