- From US$136.22 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 783 reviewsI struck gold with this hotel. I booked close to a company where I was to have a meeting the following day, so I didn't do a lot of research. The place is truly magnificent. The setting, scenery, the buildings, the rooms, all of it. The room was spacious and luxuriously furnished, with windows looking on to the infinity pool and the reservoir waters beyond, a view only partially blocked by a line of majestic palms. I was, astonishingly, the only guest (a Monday in November...), but was truly well looked after. Although the restaurant was "closed", Miguel (the chef), said he would prepare a dinner for me. What a delight for the senses. Excellent, creatively prepared food with local and seasonal ingredients. It was like having my own private chef for the evening. A very good night's sleep in a very quiet room, and a comfortable bed. The room has a massive TV, a huge split bathroom (double washbasin, shower, toilet), and is equipped with a coffee machine with a handful of capsules (I enjoyed a coffee on the terrace outside before I even went for breakfast). The service was impeccable. I realise that it was off-season and the room rate can be double what I paid, but even then it would be well worth the money. Thanks Miguel. I look forward to trying more of your food!Guest review byDavidSpain
- From US$170.28 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 263 reviewsIt was one of the best stays I have ever had. The atmosphere was wonderful, in the middle of the vineyards on a beautiful property. The accomodation itself was very, very beautiful as well - small scale, beautifully designed, very nice swimming pool and pretty building altoghether. All the staff were very friendly and we appreciated the small wine tasting that came for free with the booking. The breakfast was great and we also enjoyed dinner at the property one night, which was great as well. It is a very nice place to relax and to explore the vineyards here and in the area.Guest review byC.Y.Netherlands

Marvão is a small village high on a mountain, with a view that's enough to make you climb. It's a shame there aren't more entertainment, restaurants, and bakeries that would allow you to spend more time in the village. The castle is worth a visit.Guest review byOrlandoJRPortugal - 10.0

Castelo de Vide is a charming and peaceful hilltop town full of history and character. With its medieval castle, cobbled streets, and beautifully preserved Jewish quarter, it feels like stepping back in time. The views over the Alentejo hills are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. It’s the perfect destination for a quiet getaway, surrounded by nature, culture, and authentic Portuguese charm. Ideal for slow travel and those looking to unwind in a truly special place.Guest review byLuisMGLDSpain - 8.0

I know the village, as I was born and raised in another small village nearby, Seda. It has everything you need from shops to bank, pharmacies, swimming pool , cafes, petrol stations and it is very close to a main road, A23, which can take you everywhere in Portugal. Perfect if you look for a place where you can switch off your brain from work for a few days. When there try a wonderful delicacy called Tecolameco, divine.Guest review byMarcoUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The hotel is very well located in the town, it has excellent parking and great views out over the surrounding countryside. I found the staff were very helpful in where to go & visit and provided annotated directions on a local map. It's worth the drive from Lisbon, though I must admit it is quite a long drive. But the place is a surprise, a hidden gem, that needs to be experienced. A 2-night stay in this charming medieval village is the minimum. As a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city, I do not mind staying here for a week!Guest review byiWillTravelMorePortugal - 8.0
It doesn't have much to do.
It doesn't have much to do. If you are going to relax and be in nature, it can be great. But we were expecting to find more leisure options, like water sports and hiking. You can go on your own and with your own equipment, but we couldn't find companies who provide them. Also, there are not many restaurants to pick.Guest review byAmandaSpain
