My husband and I had a 3 night stay at the Hotel Berne.whilst on a motorbike tour of the area. We found the hotel spotlessly clean with exceptionally hardworking friendly staff, excellent restaurant, and 5 star swimming pool I would definitely recommend .

The location is breathtaking, and no photos can truly capture its beauty. The food at the restaurant was the best we’ve experienced in Portugal so far, and the wines offered a wonderful introduction to this remarkable wine region.     The hotel is very cozy and beautiful, nice spa, rooms are spacious enough and with all comforts. The hotel staff was helpful and attentive to detail, we got a welcome afternoon coffe and snacks which included different types of delicious handmade food and beverages, then welcome drinks before dinner where we were offered Porto wine. The hotel staff took great care of all guests. Amazing hotel, I'd love to go back, very much recommended!

The facility is top shelf with lots of fine details in the construction to maximize the positioning of the buildings for guest comfort.     If Viseu was near the ocean I would've moved there inmediately. Lovely streets to wander around, parks and local shops and restaurants. Lovely architecture to admire and just love the ambience. The N2 national road passes through here and it's close to a great metal festival.

    Nice and modern hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Nice restaurant with a view on the hill. We also enjoyed the indoor heated pool. The hotel is located in an area of cheap apartment buildings and the surroundings are not enjoyable. Seen from the outside, the hotel is also ugly, except from the outside swimming pool area.

    Breathtaking views. The area is stunning and so peaceful. We drove into some of the small villages and the locals were so friendly. We prefer to eat away from the tourist areas and we were not disappointed in this area. The food was fresh and tasty and very reasonable.

    We left a day early because the town is quite remote and we were keen to move on. We are on a month long tour of Portugal though so a day didn’t make much difference to us. There isn’t much to do in Manteigas itself. Having said that, the guide in the local tourist office is exceptionally helpful and very knowledgeable about the region. There are some beautiful views as you drive in and out of the town.

    The general feeling is very good, mainly concerning SPA and corresponding facilities. The negative point is practical impossibility to speak in English with staff. It was not correct ROOM SERVICE, time wise and quality wise. There is a need to have a charging station for electric cars. Anyway we will recommend the hotel for sure!

    The Quinta de Sao Luiz, where we were staying, made a reservation for us at a restaurant in Tabuaco. The drive to the restaurant was challenging due to the serpentine road and rainy weather. I don't think there was much to do in that small town, but we had an okay experience at the restaurant.

    Got to Moncorvo visit the church and eat at restaurant Lagar. Next day go to Foz do Sabor and eat "peixinhos do rio" at a local restaurant. Then go to Horta da Vilarica, try to find out where the Padaria is and buy the local bread - out of this world. In Foz Coa you need to see the prehistoric rock-art sites in the Coa Valley - you have never seen anything like that. And drink the local wine, eat the local cheeses, try the local sausages and enjoy the friendly people. You'll not regret it.

    The town is the administrative centre for a group of...

    The town is the administrative centre for a group of villages, with a museum, town hall and the usual shops, including three large supermarkets. Tondela is spread along a steep hill on Route N2. There is access to the Ecopista da Dao cycleway which stretches for 48 km along a former railway track, now asphalted. Nearby is the remarkable Museu do Caramulo with a wonderful collection of historic and classic cars and motorcycles.
