Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast . A comfortable room. Very good bar experience. We had a seemless experience not withstanding the power outage in the country at the time. The staff was wonderful! They gave us a beautiful tour of the property when we arrived, showing us the concept behind the hotel - the blending of art and history (Artsy). They were extremely accommodating for every request. The daily breakfast that was included exceeded my expectations in every way. My friend is gluten intolerant which I had specified when we made the reservation, and the server who took care of us at breakfast appeared with fresh-baked gluten-free bread, which was totally unexpected. The location was superb - right on the bike path, right on the water, and around the corner from the shopping and restaurants. It was all impressive, but the staff members were what set this property apart for me. When they discovered that I was departing early in the morning, they prepared me a box lunch so that I could have breakfast on the ride to the airport. Such a thoughtful touch. 10/10!

Cascais - very thankful to my colleague, a local from Porto,...

Cascais - very thankful to my colleague, a local from Porto, for recommending I stay at Cascais! It was the best decision, the town felt like home, and was easy access to everywhere! Food was excellent, transportation options perfect, and very walkable! I walked everywhere in the town, and went to Sintra twice via bus from bus depot, with excellent bus service. It felt safe no matter what time of the day or night- and even though there were tourists around, it didn't feel overwhelming like Lisbon or Porto, as there was a sense of peace and belonging! I want to go back again.

There were two issues that were not quite good.

There were two issues that were not quite good. One, the air conditioning was not working properly; one night it was too cold and the other 6 nights it did not work at all. Secondly, the shower was very slippery. I almost fell and slightly hurt my foot trying to prevent a fall. Other than that, everything else was extraordinary.

Oeiras is a suburb of Lisbon, so not overwhelmed by tourists. We found some great places to eat that were appreciative of our custom. There was a fantastic vegan restaurant just outside the town centre (Alma Veg). The main problem for us was the ddual carriageway that passes right by the beaches.

We did not see much of Carcavelos other than the restaurants near the flat and the beach. The reason was that we had Carcavelos as our basis from which we made trips to Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra, Cabo da Roca, ..

Nice quite town.

Nice quite town. We were staying near by the train station. quite a few shops and restaurants with great seafood selection, cafeteria, pharmacy around. chinese mini supermarket where you can buy anything you can imagine (non food), walk to the beach is about 7min

Paco de Arcos was a short 20 minute ride from the airport...

Paco de Arcos was a short 20 minute ride from the airport and just outside the city center. It is a quaint town, quiet and had great restaurants, lovely people and easy access to both train transit and beaches. You can walk all the way to Lisbon along the waterfront with many beaches and landmarks. We did a day trip to Cascais via the train and were completely at ease for our entire stay. Our best outing was a day trip to visit many of the Knight's Templar historical sites with a local guide who was a history buff and shared much of his knowledge with us.

The area was full of Quality built property with lots of trees,there were a good choice of supermarkets,the beaches were good,plenty of resturants bars and cafes,there was a nice small park.I dont go out drinking and I did not have details of any alternative evening activities,except for the excellent 4 evenings of musical entertainment at cascais festival. I ate all my meals at save the world hostels as it was my plan to walk and sight see in the morning take a break at lunchtime and do the same in the afternoon and read my books as well.Pingo Doice supermarket you could get a cup of coffee and a custard tart in their cafe for 1 euro.At Aldi Supermarket you could buy a packet of Markus Bio ground coffee (exc) Spar Supermarket exc choices only 7 mins away.

It's a cosy little apartment, very well situated, with a lovely large patio, garden with swimming pool. However, being at the garden level I was surprised at how dark it was during the daytime. The kitchen and bathroom definitely need an upgrade for the price they are asking. Overall, a comfortable place for a short visit.

We really enjoyed walking around the city, the views are very pretty and overall the buildings and structures are really beautiful, lots of stone archways, marble and old stone buildings to admire and pretty cobbled paths to walk. The road out by the coast is really enjoyable to walk also with landmarks like the boca du inferno well Worth a look. Restaurants are plentiful with good food and lots of nice cafes to enjoy a coffee and pastry while enjoying the autumn sun. The weather was perfect whilst we were there, warm but not too hot. The train station in cascais takes u into Lisbon city in 45 minutes and is really enjoyable as you pass along other sea side towns with a view of the sea as you travel. It’s not expensive and runs every 20 mins From My experience the city of cascais is very safe and clean.

Estoril is a beautiful area, so well cared for and just a delight to experience. The town itself is stunning, buzzy and many areas to visit. The beaches are sandy, clean and so many areas to park. Cascais is definitely worth visiting.
