The gem, diamond of my whole travel along Slovenia! 10 of 10! Location, inner energy, restaurant - everything is perfect. As out of season I got a free of charge 2-person room instead of 1-person. Our room was modern, pristinely clean, and elegant. The hotel restaurant had the best buffet breakfast I've ever had with fresh, organic, local ingredients; and prepared by skilled chefs. Dinner in the hotel was exquisite, yet surprisingly affordable. The desserts are out of this world. The wellness area might miss some fan favourites (jacuzzi, pool) but the facilities that are available are top-notch, and best of all: included with your room stay. The hotel itself is next to a private park (owned by the same company), so the park visit is included with your stay and is absolutely worth it.

We stayed at Bohinj River House before and after a multi day hike in the Julian Alps and it was the perfect base! The apartment and facilities are new, modern and very comfortable. We particularly loved the spa facilities and the wonderful inclusive breakfast. The staff were so kind and friendly and truly went above and beyond to help us out with anything we needed. Would highly recommend.

The rooms very nice and modern. I liked the interior design of the hotel and rooms. The hosts were super friendly and on arriving in rain on a motorcycle immediately came out to point me to a garage (though there's only one space in it, more parking available outside of the garage). They also inquired if I would need to dry something, but I declined as I managed to stay dry. Hosts were always very friendly. Breakfast was nice as well. Would for sure recommend.

Everything is EXCEPTIONAL about this location. Honestly a very short description won't do justice to this amazing location, but I'll try to summarize our experience. I'll start with the staff (family business), they were all extra attentive with us and very friendly. The views/location? Simply amazing and stunning. The farm is on a small hill and it's facing the Grintovec peak, no matter the weather conditions you will get some awesome pictures here. You can walk around the farm and see the stables/greenhouses, basically from where all the food is coming from. The food is made from local products. Majority of them, if not all, are sourced right from the farm. You get to experience some genuine and extremly tasty local Slovenian food. The breakfast option is a must and you have a dinner option as well. We are sorry that our stay was too short and we didn't get to schedule a dinner, but it's on our list the next time we visit! Finally, the room is very cozy and extremly clean. I say this because we stayed in some rustic locations that lacked the cleanliness a bit but it was acceptable. Here we got the rustic look and feel, but everything was spotless. The beds were perfect for us, we slept like babies every night and we woke up rested. This is an incredible place and pictures or small descriptions won't do it justice. You have to come here and experience it on your own.

Fantastic view from or balcony, well informed and service minded staff. Great value for the price and perfect place in Bohinj walking distance to evrything. The reception sgested us to hike to the close waterfall and the gorge instead of haiking along the lake and that was an amazing tour and possibility to get a great locale soup and a bear just when you need it. Possibility to charge the care and thats also included in the stay.

This Hotel was the perfect place for our vacation! We did a lot of bike tours and they all started from the hotel! And before a long 6 hour tour we could fuel ourselves with the huge and delicious breakfast buffet! Everything your heart want was there! We loved it and we will definitely come back! The staff was also really nice and I gut a great chocolate massage and wrap after long hiking days!

Our expectations were exceeded with Hotel Lovec. We had high rooms with lake view and the view from the rooms were simply stunning. Hotel felt very big and open. Largest buffet breakfast we had on our trip and it was really good! Very friendly staff and accommodating with parking when the hotel carpark was full. 10/10 would go here again.

Bled lives up to its rep as a beautiful spot, but there are a lot of tourists. Try to stay further down the lake than the end with all the big hotels. Good hiking and vibe in the off season (Oct/Nov.)

Great place for a little escape to the mountains when I...

Great place for a little escape to the mountains when I travelled in late summer for trail running. The town is full of nice little restaurants, many of them offering superb Slovenian food. I recommend Pino Alpino for a drink and dinner at Restaurant Lipa. If you have a day to spare a trip to Lake Bled is also well worth of your time, either to go swimming or to take a trip around the lake by boat. I would recommend having a car as it can be tricky to get in and out of town without. Will come back in winter to check out the slopes!

We stayed in Bled for a couple of days before moving to Lake Bohinj, on reflection, we preferred Lake Bohinj to Bled, it was less busy, quieter, and if we wanted was in each reach of Bled for a visit. If we went back again we would stay in Bohinj as a base and move around from there.

Small town with a lot of historical buildings to see and...

Small town with a lot of historical buildings to see and stories to hear, also the tunnels built in the 2nd world war. There is beautiful nature in (rivers Kokra and Sava) and around it that you can visit. I was there two years in a row in September and each time we had a shorter option of a guided tour. Only the tunnels were the same, other parts of tour were totally different - in a small city!

Slovenia on the whole is one of the most beautiful countries we have been to. It was very lush and green and has beautiful mountains with little villages tucked away in between. WE love our visit to to Ljubljana, Lake Bled and Postojna caves!! Keeping in mind that this particular hotel location is quite far from the tourist attractions but extremely close to the airport.

Skofija Loka is a stunning medieval town surrounded by beautiful hills, forests and farmland. The castle perched above the town hosts the town museum and is well worth a visit. The old town features lots of beautiful buildings and small squares with cafes and shops. We ate out twice, once in a Balkan food specialist called Das ist Walter and once in a restaurant near Stara Loka called Inglic. Both were excellent and good value for money. The cafe bar Homen in the centre was also very good for cakes and coffee with exceptional, friendly staff. We also enjoyed two long hikes in the surrounding hills. Lesce is a local residential village so nothing special is really happening there. It is quite small and very quiet with supermarkets in the vicinities. The best thing about Lesce is it central location to all the major areas around Lake Bled.

The small village of Mojstrana is at the beginning of the climbing area for Triglav, and the place is amazing—calm and beautiful. Houses and backyards are so clean, and the stream in the center of village is so cute. If you like bike tour there is bike road toward Kranjska Gora.

If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the perfect place. If you enjoy walking, it's also ideal. It takes about half an hour to reach Lake Bled and around 40 minutes to get to the Vintgar Gorge. All around are beautiful Slovenian villages.

We enjoyed walking around the lake in the morning with a...

We enjoyed walking around the lake in the morning with a visit to Bled Castle in the afternoon. Next day we spent 3 hours at the spectacular Vintgar Gorge and would recommend all these activities to visitors. With more time we could have done more hiking in the lake area and spent some time on the lake itself.
