I arrived late at night and woke up late the next morning. I almost came too late for breakfast but the friendly receptionist had already told the restaurant staff about my delayed arrival and that I would probably sleep longer the next morning so they were prepared and made sure I still got a wonderful breakfast after all. The cook even offered me to prepare fresh eggs for me. It was amazing. I never had such a good service before :). I asked for nothing but they just knew what I needed.

During my business trip to Košice in May, I chose Hotel Crystal, and I was thoroughly impressed with what it had to offer. The location, just a bit outside the old town yet very close to the city center, was perfect for commuting to the office. Parking was ample, and navigating back and forth was a breeze. The modern design of the hotel caught my eye, but what made my stay truly special was the staff. They were incredibly helpful, always ready with suggestions and recommendations that turned out to be spot-on. The breakfast spread was large, varied, and high-quality, catering to all tastes. My room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, providing all the comfort I needed without feeling cramped. The unique layout with two rooms and a common space added to the appeal, even though it was initially a bit confusing. Nearby attractions and the easy access to my workplace complemented the experience, and the overall quality of the stay felt premium. The very nice Radka was very helpful, after our motorbike tour on our way back from Rumania we stopped in this Hotel, quiet, very modern bathroom and sleepingroom with a very good Boxspringbed, Radka prepared a beautiful breakfast for the guests.We really enjoyed our staying.     The hosts were super helpful: they know the area very well and are able to give up-to-date information and recommend places to go (or suggest modification to our plans) as well as the best way to get there (thus saving us valueable time we would have spent travelling). The place is surrounded by forest and there are no sounds of traffic, so we slept really well. Breakfast is tasty and when the weather is good, you can take it outside in the freh air and sun. The extra touch to our stay was that the hosts offered to give us a better room in another building at no extra cost since our stay coincided with a big group of people arriving on the same day as us and the original room we were supposed to be in was in the bigger building taken by the group. I mean, the room was still there and unoccupied, but the hosts decided to give us extra privacy which was very considerate.

    I had an exceptionally pleasant time in Košice, a beautiful...

    I had an exceptionally pleasant time in Košice, a beautiful city with wonderful, well-mannered and educated people, many of whom speak widely spoken foreign languages. The beer is excellent, the food is very well cooked – even the Italian dishes – and the terraces in the city centre offer both comfort and the chance to admire the architecture of the old merchants’ and noblemen’s houses. Košice has numerous museums, churches, and beautiful places to visit. I recommend the East Slovak Museum and the Aviation Museum, as well as St. Elisabeth’s Church and the museum of the former prison with the Executioner’s House. I will definitely return to Košice!

    These clean and modern apartments are stunning. They are equipped with everything you need for a comfortable self catered stay. The host left lots of personal touches which were very much appreciated. We chose an upstairs apartment for the balcony and a better view. This was the case, however there is still a lot of building work being carried out opposite which kind of ruined it. The check-in was easy and explained well via a message. But unfortunately because this address isn’t registered on Google Maps yet, it’s a bit difficult to find. It is actually down an unmarked gravel lane. Easy once you know this, but the host didn’t mention this beforehand. The area its self is perfect for exploring the National park. We did one of our walks from the apartment it’s self. The apartment is going to be part of a holiday complex which will be very luxurious when finished. I think that it is reflected in the price currently charged (unfinished). We really enjoyed our stay here. Thank you.

    A great small town!

    A great small town! Lots of shops and a great point to travel to Paradise park and castle in Spissky Podhradie by train... Great stay! Not hard to get around and a tourist office is a bit forward, on the left street from the stay... Nice! I recommend it!

    The entire Spissky Region is absolutely beautiful. You can visit the large Castle ruins or explore the amazing Slovak Paradise National Park. All the villages around are also very interesting and you can see the majestic Tatra mountains nearby.

    Dedinky is a very nice and calm town at the foot of the hills of the Slovak paradise. The lake is great for swimming (though the water is cold) or for renting a boat and exploring the lake a little. The Dobsina Ice Cave can easily be reached by train, and there are several nice hiking tours starting from Dedinky.

    Small town with not much to do.

    Small town with not much to do. It was a stopover destination on the way home from a trip to rural slovakia. In one or two days pretty much everything can be seen. We didnt use public transport, there were some trams and buses going around but the place is so small they are not really needed. The old parts of town are very nice, clean and well preserved. Lots of restaurants and bars with good atmosphere. However stepping outside of the historic part of town, everything looks like it is still the same way as the soviets left it. brutalist concrete block buildings, half falling apart. The nice part of town is very nice, the not nice part is not nice.

    Hrabusice is an excellent base for hiking at the Slovensky Raj or High Tatras. It is also close to many historical sites. We loved staying at Ubytovanie at Emka. It was our second time in three years. It is a short walking distance to Restauracia u Hudaka that serves freshly cooked delicious meals at a great price.

    I loved Spisska Nova Ves.

    I loved Spisska Nova Ves. The old part of the town is very pretty and it is a short train ride to Poprod and from there to the mountains, which are beautiful. I wish I'd been able to stay here longer. And I loved the art gallery. Not big but some really interesting exhibits. Spisska is easy to walk around and the restaurants are great and not expensive. The only thing I would avoid is the person in the park trying to convert me to their religion. But that is not Spisska's fault.

    Dedinky is on the south side of Slovak Paradise National...

    Dedinky is on the south side of Slovak Paradise National Park. It has a "bite-sized" hike that takes about two hours (or three hours for an extended version). The hike includes metal ladders and metal platforms through the gorge. (Longer more adventurous hikes can be found to the north of the national park). The reservoir by Dedinky village has boats for rental, alternatively you can go for a swim (after a hike)... the water temperature is refreshingly cold!

    I was just visiting for 3 days. I could have stayed for longer, It is such a beautiful city!! People are very friendly, and it has lots of great spots not too far, A great surprise, and I would love to come. Unluckily I did not bring my camera and do not have a smart phone!! next time. I could go to see the big fountain during the day and night ( with lights!) and with all sort of music. One can get lots around the side streets and find the cutest cafes. I am just in love with this place I was impress by how clean, Hardly anything on the floor. A must seen gem place:) Unluckily I arrived a Sunday late afternoon, Mondays most of things are closed, and walk around the city with a friend, but hey! getting lost around streets, having some lovely food, some of my favorite things . Def. I would love to come back, A lovely shop to visit is Interesante, full of lovely handmade objects:). Hlavna 26. The woman working there speaks Italian, really friendly!!:)
