Great experience at Le Patta Hotel: beautiful spacious room, quiet although right in town and close to night market, parking available and really lovely staff. There was absolutely nothing we did not like about this place and we will stay there again if/when we return to Chiang Rai. The swimming pool is nice and not too small for a city location (= you can do laps). Nice breakfast, mainly asian/thai but with fresh fruits & vegetables, made to order egg dishes and breads you can compose your own western version too. Great value for money.

Fon and her partner were very friendly and nice. She told us a little about Chiangrai and the hill we're on. While getting there can be a little challenging as we took a wrong route (please don't follow waze nor Google maps), everything else was perfect. I surprised my husband with this trip and he told me his stay at Above The Clouds was the highlight of our Chiangrai-Chiangmai trip! Being able to spend a lot of quality time in the hot tub while sipping on our drinks and admiring the view (we spent almost 2.5 hours in it!), and ending it with an amazing truly delicious dinner prepared by Fon's mum was just perfect.

We really love the place with very friendly and accommodating staffs. Would recommend the room with private pool, the entire unit is so pretty, clean, neat and comfortable. The food serve for breakfast is delicious and have several options to choose from. They have a very nice variety of milk / boba teas - highly recommended.

Room was decent size, bathroom worked as expected and had no structural shortcomings..... linens were very good. Management here really has trained the staff well. this hotel is a top line operation, that stands with the best four star European quality levels. Location is fantastic, not that I needed central. Travelling on a motorcycle, I need comfort and peace n quiet. This hotel was perfect.

Top notch, I arrived slightly early and was granted early check in. The room was efficiently designed, extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. They provided two glass bottles of drinking water. It was a nice change of what appeared to be the standard of low quality drinking water in plastic bottles. Another nice feature was the nearby 7-11 which was well stocked, much better than any other I had been to in Chiang Rai.

My birthday was during this trip and they helped my partner surprise me with a cake and flowers for only 500 baht which made it really special. The pool was lovely, we went in everyday. Breakfast was included in my stay which was nice. Cleaned the room every day.

Far better than chiang mai. Cheap a few good bars and restaurants on and around walking street. The temples are the best we have ever seen. Very friendly and safe place. Thailand 25 years ago. No hassle and great people. Oh and very cheap.

Mae Salong is a beautiful haven for a getaway. Firstly, there are a few tea farms on the mountains. The scent of flowers wafts through the air almost wherever you go. Nothing is like the beauty of sun rise and sun set here. Last but not least, food is good.

It was a great stay for just two days (we arrived in the afternoon of a Friday and left on Saturday evening). It was long enough to see the Blue temple, the big Buddha, the white temple and the black house. We would recommend not to walk much, just use Grab for transportation between the temples.

I ❤️ Mae Salong. The clean crisp air and many local ethnic groups make this a great place to visit Love staying at Shin Sane GH or Little House GH. Each still offer great prices for cottages and Shin Sane still has the original rooms from wooden house and at a shoestring price for this region Love eating at Yunnan noodles down the road a bit past 7 Eleven and Salima’s. There’s a pure veg place heading towards the cathothic school nearby.

Acceptable for one night. You need a car to get to the hotel. The rooms are not soundproof. Quite loud from the traffic. The hotel is located directly on the main street. The breakfast is not bad and with good coffee to make yourself with a coffee machine.

Chiang Khong, a lovely little town next to the river. Views are amazing and the food is good. It is not very big so staying for an extended time may be dull for some. Great for relaxing and quiet. Excellent for walking and/or riding bicycles.
