The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and often anticipated our needs before we even asked. The food was delicious, our villa modern, spacious and spotlessly clean, and the overall service top-notch. One of the highlights was the Swahili night, featuring fantastic local dishes and an unforgettable acrobat performance. We also treated ourselves to a relaxing massage during our stay— just what we needed after our safari adventures. Although not beachfront, the resort is just a short walk through Jambiani village to the sea, or you can take a shuttle to one of their partner beachfront properties, which are equally well-designed and welcoming. That said, we actually preferred the peaceful charm of the Oasis itself. We’d come back in a heartbeat—and in fact, we’re already planning our return in 2026!

What can we say about Mahi Mahi? We will never forget the four beautiful days and nights we spent there. Perfect, peaceful location, away from the crowds. Near the village, where you can go around exploring on foot (do it & support the local community!!) Stunning view of the ocean, delicious food, abundant breakfast and very good choices for lunch or dinner - prices of the restaurant more expensive than what you find in local restaurants nearby but still quite affordable. All of the dishes delicious - congratulations to the chef, who btw took the time to come and meet us :) I tried the "chef's special" everyday during breakfast :). Clean, spacious rooms, you wake up and sleep hearing the sound of the sea. Now THAT is a memory to hold on to during winter. Amazing service - thank you Sifa, Skola (special thanks for the on-the-go Swahili lessons to my wife) Justin, Ilias, and I'm SO sorry I forget the names of all the other nice people that made our stay so wonderful, we thank you all! This was a remarkable experience and everything was perfect. If felt like a 5 stars boutique hotel ambiance. The rooms were spacious, the food was delicious, the breakfast was very rich, tasty with quality ingredients. The team including Plil was super kind and patient to all our needs but above all there was Anna - the manager of this diamond place . She is AMAZING lady that other than her management and hospitality skills, have a great personality and in parallel to her full devotion to make her guests happy with her high class Italian standards, she is helping local children to have proper education. A truly remarkable place with a real magic that wins any other luxury hospitality that you can think of. Thank you Anna!!!

We were very satisfied with Mem hotel. The staff was so nice and helpful. They made our experience unforgettable. The servise and food was very good for a very affordable price. You can enjoy a good coffee and free snacks. The hotel is clean and well arranged on a quiet spot, near the beach. The pool is big and cleaned daily. It is also safe place for kids. We definitely recommend it.

Spacious and clean rooms with great sea view. Helpful and hospitable staff and owners. Good, well-maintained facilities and a lovely pool. Breakfast is 'a la carte', starting with a fruit platter and continuing with a great variety of options. There was no restriction - you could order everything you liked from the menu. Hotel was very helpful in arranging our transportation to/from Zanzibar ferry terminal (it is strongly recommended to book a taxi through the hotel, as it is much cheaper and safer than any 'driver' approaching you outside the ferry). The hotel also arranged for us a visit to the Blue Lagoon (again at a much lower price that what tourists could find on their own), where we had a chance to see the spectacular coral reef and its exotic marine species. One of the greatest assets of the hotel is its location right on the beautiful Paje beach, ideal for relaxation, jogging or water sports. (First-time visitors are advised not to pay too much attention to locals trying to sell you stuff, as they will not leave you alone until you buy something from them - usually overpriced at 'tourist rates'.) Around the hotel there is a local market, where you can buy spices, local handicraft and other goods. For handicraft, be prepared to negotiate hard, as the initial quoted prices are quite high.

After several weeks of safari we turned to Stonetown and then to FUN BEACH Resort. It was like a paradise on earth ! The location so beautiful, together relaxed and vivid, he staff super friendly and having fun in a really coming-from-the-heart setup in their teams and with us. Quality of food outstanding good, support in any cases, shower and change rooms for the time (day) between checkout an flight, organisational support etc.etc. simply was OUTSTANDING SUPERB. We stayed there for 4 days, had to leave due to concepted other destination, but we left there and came back to FUN BEACH (for this one night), to enjoy this wonderful experience in this extraordinarily friendly, happy and qualityfull location. Thank you for taking us as guests ! For sure we will come back.

As the name implies "dream" place. More than a hotel! felt like visiting family. Not our first time to stay at Zanzibar Dream Lodge, and definitely not the last! Kassim and staff always had time for a good chat and were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Helping with all needs and trips to the must see/do places and the hidden gems in Zanzibar. Our room was nice and clean, and enjoyed a break in a cool room after long, warm day. And also liked the beautiful outside areas. Zanzibar Dream Lodge is a very nice, chill, quiet and relaxing place. Attended a swahili food course. Fun, cosy and gave a further understanding of the Zanzibari-culture. Otherwise enjoyed amazing food from their restaurant.

I love this place so much ! Beside the seaside view of the hotel , friendly staffs always ready to provide help , and beautiful decoration all around , lots of places to chill, like bar at the seaside, hammock , swimming pool, very tropical and African and Jamaica style also delicious food and drinks at reasonable price , in addition, good music taste ! if you also a fan of Reggae, then you will find yourself back at home:), also have cute big dogs hung around waiting for your petting without disrupting you, as they good at ease by themselves. You call also join the dolphin tour or other tours by the bar.

Paje, beautiful place and beach, plenty of restaurants both on the beach and on the road. The only downside is that the beach is in the shade by 16:30 and very high and low tides makes taking a dip complicated !

A peaceful and welcoming town with a strong sense of community and a safe, relaxing atmosphere. We stayed in a peaceful part of town, where there were noticeably fewer street vendors selling beads and souvenirs compared to other areas. This made the atmosphere even more calm and relaxing, allowing us to fully enjoy the local charm without feeling overwhelmed.

This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten...

This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten track... a village, by the sea, with an increasing number of resorts being added. I hope it does not lose its charm to the crowds. This is a quiet, special place.

I loved that it was a proper reflection of the Island in that you took home the beauty of the place and kindness of the people. It was not loud or noisy and had very few touristy hotels and vendors hassling you

Beautiful beach, warm and calm ocean to swim in. Lots of eating options, amazing people. Yes, there are people trying to sell you things on the beach - but was quieter than other beaches (Like Paje) and they are all respectful.

This place is a gem!

This place is a gem! A new hotel with a big heart, right by the ocean, surrounded by peaceful gardens and a stunning pool. The rooms are spacious and stylish, the breakfast is fresh and delicious, and very friendly staff. The connection to the hospitality school is inspiring—it's not just a great stay, it’s also supporting something meaningful.. It’s rare to find a place that feels this good in every way. It was a great stay for me and my family.

It was a great stay for me and my family. The best part of this hotel is the entire staff. Extremely friendly and courteous.Always smiling and greeting at every opportunity.A special thanks goes to Fadhila who made us and especially my daughter feel very special and welcome.The Manager was also very friendly and polite.Overall I would rate my stay as exceptional.

If you have only stayed at Sheraton, Marriott, Ritz, King...

If you have only stayed at Sheraton, Marriott, Ritz, King George or similar hotels - this is not your place. But if you are looking for clean beaches, clear sea, delicious food, peace, close contact with nature, friendly and courteous staff - this is it. There are many bars and small restaurants along the coast that offer a variety of food. In addition, in the town (of course African) you can buy products that are very fresh, and the people are friendly. Here you can buy handmade jewelry and souvenirs from the local population and the Masai.

Just up the beach from Paje town, a little quieter but thats what was nice. Wandered to different restaurants along the beach for lunch and dinner. Limited during off season but enough open. We came via Dar Es Salaam airport and ferry. If you can't get an e-visa before arrival, plan 2hrs to exit the airport. We missed our booked ferry and had to pay again for the last ferry on a different company. Used Zanzibar Quest to book the ferry and transport with exemplary service and support via whatsapp and email. The new travel insurance requirement $50p/p on top of the $50p/p visa fee is a scam that mars the experience. The amount of times we had to show our passport and visa / travel insurance was reminiscent of the cold war. Inefficient and overboard. So if you can fly direct to Zanzibar and use e-visa or have patience and a loose schedule. The drive to the Page beach area took about 1 ½ hrs with the first ⅓ taking ¾ of the time with a typical african road experience. Get a good driver. Driving licenses are issued by testing payment of fee. The driver booked by Zanzibar Quest was excellent. Great beach, wind was consistent during the afternoon to either kite or cool down. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent. Not a fan of the immigration process or the fees.

Paradise …Jim’s, Salim, Irene and Juliane were exceptional...

Paradise …Jim’s, Salim, Irene and Juliane were exceptional always ready to help. They just couldn’t do enough for you. The reception staff especially Yusef were very accommodating especially as we arrived very early from Dar-es-Salam! They let us drop our bags and enjoy all the facilities until our room was ready! We had a wonderful stay in Paradise.
