PolandI particularly liked the staff, who were patient and friendly, which is most important when you travel with an overactive 4-year-old kid :) breakfast was tasty. I could finally eat some fresh fruit. The playground in the backyard helped us a lot with using my son's energy. I wish we could come back.

CanadaThe place is amazing. The location close to everything. The place is very clean with a lot of attention for details. The bed was so comfortable I wanted to bring it home. My daughter was really happy when we would come in and see cookies in the entrance. The breakfast is sooo good with different choice of savory or sweet every morning. And the BEST thing are the people there. Walker, Phoebe and the others which we did not get the names were so nice and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay. They even upgraded my room because there was availability.

CanadaThe rooms were so cute and clean. The staff were extremely friendly and nice. The decoration of the cottage is very aesthetically pleasing because of all the unique art they have curated. We were greeted with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne as it was our anniversary. We will definitely come back as we had an amazing time.

The room was exceptional with a seperate sitting room and private outdoor space to relax after a long day of hiking.
The staff were all very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the best hiking trails. They were always available for advice and tips. Althoug breakfast was not available, they provided everything necessary to start the day well like fruits, porridge and their freshly baked blueberry muffins.
We would definitely stay there again.

If you stay here, make sure to take advantage of the grill, cornhole, propane fire and regular fire pit that has fire starters, wood and paper to make starting your fire super easy! We stayed for 2 nights in another hotel in town. But as that hotel was extremely expensive due to memorial weekend, we switched to the villager motel. We were super happy we did. The room is a good size, the beds comfortable and the location to the restaurants and main attractions in town is unbeatable. The breakfast was good and exceeded our expectations, as there were more choices as we had with hotels during our trip. The receptionist was also friendly and the check in was smooth.

The grounds were super quaint and comforting. The room was a little dated but everything felt clean and safe. We loved all the outdoor space on the on the hotel grounds and it was super easy to walk to everything in Bar Harbor.

Fresh cookies when you arrive at the lobby. Local coffee. Breakfast options were more than enough. Clean room, very friendly staff. Comfy beds. Felt safe in that area of town even though it gets dark very early in November.

Bar Harbor is a charming and picturesque town with plenty to enjoy when everything is open. However, if you’re visiting during the off-season, be sure to have a backup plan—many restaurants and shops are closed during this time. Unfortunately, most restaurant websites aren’t updated to reflect seasonal closures, so you may need to walk around and check in person, then pivot to another option if your first choice is closed.

Exceptional does not begin to describe this property. Is it a beautifully constructed and secluded cabin mirroring the owner’s memory of her childhood home on the West Coast of Ireland. Imaginatively furnished, it is the best equipped rental in which I have ever stayed. Far from the hustle and bustle but close to all of the major attractions: Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, the Schoodic National Scenic Byway, Frenchman’s Bay and so much more.

This is a wonderful launching pad for beautiful nearby towns such as Blue Hill, Deer Island, Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Seal Harbor, and, of course, Acadia National Park where one can view the entire seacoast from beautiful Cadillac Mountain.

Bass Harbor is a wonderful place to stay and experience all the surrounding area has to offer. We biked, kayaked, and hiked during the week. Bar Harbor is an easy drive and a great place to get a book, eat out, and shop.

Bar Harbor is beautfully located by the bay.
Bar Harbor is beautfully located by the bay. It is set for tourism with numerous stores and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed eating at The Thirst Whale (the clam chowder was one of the best) and Geddy's.

Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor.
Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor. It is very walkable, with several restaurants and shops. It is a short drive to the Bass Harbor lighthouse and Acadia National Park. The city dock is open to the public, and you can get some good pictures of the harbor from the dock. I took my wife to the Red Sky restaurant for her birthday. It was very good.

It was quiet compared to Bar Harbor and very peaceful. There were many shops and a few restaurants. The marina was lovely. Bar Harbor and Acadia were just minutes away. I would stay in Northeast Harbor again.

The 2.5 hour guided bus tour of Acadia was very good (except for the young children that were on our tour). If you have a car, take a ride around the entire island Bar Harbor is located on. We spent 4 hours and drove 65 miles around the periphery of the island; the views were fantastic.

We wished we could have stayed longer as we liked the place.
Next time we will try to come back during the high season as the area was getting ready for the spring and therefore not all shops yet re-open.
But more important for our trip (Eastern 2024) it was not far from the Acadia park.
