The staff is very hospitable and professional. They even gave us an upgraded room without any extra charge when we checked in. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful with all our inquiries. Also, they have a doorman who always made us feel welcome. He even gave us water on several occasions without us asking for it. The location is great, too. Just a couple hundred meters away from a beautiful beach. The hotel is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood, but still not too far away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.

We had a fantastic stay at this hostel in Cat Ba! The highlight of our trip was definitely the boat tour, which was perfectly organized and gave us an unforgettable experience of the bay. Our host Jay was incredibly attentive and friendly — he went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. You can really feel that he cares about his guests. Highly recommend staying here if you’re in Cat Ba!

My stay at Mê Stay Cát Bà was perfect. The room was clean, bright, and beautifully designed. Breakfast was delicious and full of energy to start the day. I am truly impressed with the service quality at Sea Dragon Hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and equipped with modern amenities, offering a very airy and comfortable atmosphere. The view from the window facing the sea provides a relaxing and peaceful feeling. The hotel staff is very professional, friendly, and always ready to assist me with any issues. This made me feel at home. Additionally, the hotel is located in a prime area, close to the beach and various entertainment and dining spots, making it very convenient for travel and exploration. This is definitely one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. I am completely satisfied and will definitely return on my next trip. I hope this review is helpful!

Very nice hotel located in my opinion in the best point of Cat Ba Town - just 2-3 min walking to the city center with a lots of restaurants, bars and shops, and other other hand just 10 min walking to the amazing beach. The rooms are spacious, the surrounding is quiet and green, as you aren't so close to the city center. Breakfast similar but very tasty, and the staff very kind and helpful. They have various offers for Ha Long and Lan Ha Bays Tours and they could book one of them for you, what is very convenient. They don't charge extra fee by paying by the card. I highly recommend this place as one of the best in Cat Ba Town :)

What a wondeful stay. The hotel is packed with amazing things. Starting with a view that was truely incedible, big outdoor swimming pool and huge, wonderful rooms. I have never stayed with a place that was so comfortable. Room was packed with amenities, bed was enormous and incredibly comfortable, bathroom had both shower and a bathtub. The personel was very helpful and nice.

I like to stay in Ha Long Essence Hotell with comfy beds and pillows. Sleep very well there for one night. With the price I paid I would say the hotel provide high standard of hygiene and nice deco. I don mind booking the hotel again when i am back on Ha Long.

Cat Ba Island was a fantastic getaway.

Cat Ba Island was a fantastic getaway. The scenery is stunning, with towering limestone cliffs and calm, clear waters — Lan Ha Bay in particular felt peaceful and less crowded than Ha Long. We spent our days exploring the national park and renting scooters to see hidden beaches and viewpoints, which was a lot of fun. The town itself is relaxed, with plenty of good little cafés and seafood restaurants to refuel after a day of adventure. People were friendly and welcoming, and it felt easy to get around. Overall, Cat Ba is perfect for nature lovers who want a mix of activity and chill time — definitely worth a visit.

Mr Power was a very good tour leader, he was very friendly, knowledgeable and funny. All the staff are friendly, the food and drinks was very good and the cooking class was very funny and entertaining. Cave visit with the boat was fantastic.

Enjoyed Cat Ba, but don’t go on others reviews for accomodation, check out places fully, we changed places twice and would have changed again but decided to stick it out, do not accept a bad room, ask for one which you believe you have paid for and as it was described when you booked it. Don’t book for a weekend or public holiday, the Vietnamese flood the town. We found best value places to eat and drink, cheapest and great food Oasis restaurant, The big man for good western food.

Very tranquil ,beautiful.views , enjoyed the swim and canoeing which were part of the trip, food was good . Be prepared for all the rub bish floating which was a shame and the hawkers in the little boats trying to sell.you stuff, we had a cabin with a balcony which was nice but as we were right next to the water they could harass you . The drinks on the boat were really expensive . If you want to have a glass of wine etc in your room just bring your own there is a fridge

Great place for tours/excursions such as the cruises that take place often, or a day trip organised to other areas. Had some lovely restaurants and coffee spots too. However, currently lots of construction taking place in the town so if you had time, I'd say it's worth it for the visit but wouldn't be missing out on loads currently if you planned to go but with no intention of doing the cruises or a tour.
