The location and the property is absalutely stunning. Our room was very spacious and again beautiful, well every thing was. We had faaizah who looked after us our whole time there and he was lovely, the whole team were so lovely. The food were amazing and the walks around the property were great. Would highly recommend!

A fabulous experience staying in the old gaol. "Solitary confinement" was our bathroom. Tastefully decorated and remodelled, this is a comfortable and delightful place to be. Bed very comfortable, and the room was quiet overnight. Wifi worked very well, and having a fridge and kettle in the room was convenient. Grounds were well tended and there were comfortable and inviting places to sit outside. The history and memorabilia in the reception area was interesting. Staff very knowledgable, friendly and relaxed. Very happy to have stayed here.

We actually did not stay long.

We actually did not stay long. We had a meal across the road from where we stayed, but did not walk around or did any activities as we perceived the local people to be very poor and we chose to stay indoors.

Once off the N12 the roads in Britstown - mainly gravel - were rather bumpy, probably the norm in most small towns acroos South Africa at the moment. I was very pleasantly surprised by the standards and quality provided by the Old Mill Coffee Shop, where I enjoyed a wholesome breakfast, and the Transkaroo Country Lodge, at which I enjoyed a delicious dinner and a good breakfast.

    Britstown is a small town.

Britstown is a small town. There is a nice hotel (Transkaroo hotel) and a nice coffee shop (The Mill) where you can stop. The hotel has a nice vibe in the dining area. The dinners are delicious. I think it's good for a stop over if you have a long journey arriving late in the afternoon or early evening. The Transkaroo hotel will provide a deserved rest.
