We loved the location. The view was beautiful and continually changing throughout the day. The staff and Margie were amazing. They were a huge help in planning special treats such as massages, pasta making class, and other trips. They also assisted a great deal with the current load shedding situation. They sent the schedule and made sure we had ways to cook with a gas stove during load shedding. Also, the Wifi had a backup battery to allow for it to continue to be available throughout loadshedding. A perfect getaway. We will be back.

Let's be honest this is the place to be if you want to do the Tugela Falls/chain ladders hike as well as other hikes. We stayed in the newer Sentinel rooms and they were very comfortable, roomy with great views. We enjoyed the bar/lounge for a drink before dinner or just to hang out after the hike. Breakfast buffet had plenty of options. We also requested a packed lunch for the hike, which was very welcomed! The staff is very nice and helpful. Note: We would recommend to book a transfer to the start of the chain ladder hike at the Sentinel carpark. Do not attempt to drive there yourself as the road is in extremely bad condition. Worth the cost!

From the moment we arrived, it was welcoming. The manager Ewoudt has a passion for his job, made us feel welcome went above and beyond I had my 50th birthday get away and they made me feel special. They could give information and suggestions Honestly one of the best break aways I have had in years. Would recommend Letsatsi to anyone. It's not only breathtaking roling views with lots of excusite animals Lots to keep you busy with. Quite good for the soul, perfect place to reset and recharge! Will most definitely see us again!

We just enjoyed chilling out. Visited Golden Gate twice.

We just enjoyed chilling out. Visited Golden Gate twice. Beautiful scenic drive to Fouriesberg. Mid morning coffees at Liewe Koffie. Xmas lunch at The Posthouse - delicious thin sliced gammon. Ate twice at Bocca Di Lupo Italian restaurant - not cheap but very nice. Ate at Charlies Cafe - excellent Butter Chicken, Ate at Clementines - do not order their Steak and Guiness pie. Ate at The Square - just average. At Clarens you just park and walk. Walk some of the residential "back" streets and see some beautiful homes. There are no great activities for young, fit and healthy 80 year olds - which is what we are.

Harrismith is a very very cold place in, winter.

Harrismith is a very very cold place in, winter. Whilst the location and everything in the cottage was excellent, we could not enjoy the stay due to the cold and no heaters. If it's specified that there will be no heaters in winter and no fans in summer, then either we carry our own heaters or fans, or look for, alternate accommodation. The roads in Harrismith are terrible.

Had a private little well maintained garden with private seating area to sit outside and enjoy the garden. Premises is well secured with electric gate, security camera's and security gates. Room is nice and spacious with a lot of cupboard space. TV is nice and big. Kitchen has a kettle, fridge and a microwave. Nice coffee, sugar, milk, water and biscuits was in the room. Nice size basin to wash up in with dishwash soap. Just needed a kitchen cloth and towel. Space was well utilized for the layout of the room, kitchen and shower. Hosts were very accommodating and friendly. Overall, comfortable and felt safe.

Internet signal was spasmodic in Unit 6, but manageable. Rustiq Restaurant was a good suggestion. Great place to break the long-haul trips. The staff were great and the welcome right up there. Will be back.

If you are planning to hike the Tugela Falls and want to start early, I highly recommend staying at the lodge for the night. We had a warm welcome, a clean room and a breakfast buffet. There is free parking on site.

The Retief Guest Farm is outside Kroonstad and off the N1 making it convenient to find. Our brief visit to the town was not an experience that I would recommend, the roads are in poor repair, and signage to orderly shopping centers difficult to find.

Town is generally neglected with many potholes and the roads in a bad state. We were there for a swimming competition and the deterioration since March 2021 is clear. The Municipal Swimming Pool is clearly not maintained to standard/
