Arrived early and we were able to swim and relax while the room was being made up. They really went out of the way for us and we felt very comfortable - best night of sleep we all had, and for a family with young kids it was perfect.

What an excellent idea to book this magical place for one night. Chris the owner, was in Heidelberg by chance, met us and drove ahed of us to the villa. He gave us a great tour around the large property, which was a good idea, because the weather turned for the worse and we wouldn't have seen these beautiful vistas on the day of departure. Chris told us that he and his neighbour take good care of these large parcels of land, which mostly remain off bounds to tourists, are kept in their natural state and all non-indigenous trees are being removed. Our grandkids loved the villa's music-room and the biljart table. We all enjoyed being in this quiet, peaceful property that was filled with the owner's pieces of art, gathered from all or the world. We really felt that we were staying in someone's private home instead of in a holiday rental. Of course, as always, the big mistake was ,only book it for one night...

Hot water tap on basin in bathroom turn around when you open it!!! Door to balcony, I brought under attention. But no help. Very diffucult to open and especially to close....please attend.

Lagoon view was excellent....Restaurant a bit expensive....bed had bedbugs, but not major problem as owner must just fumigate the bed...will definitely visit again..already promote the lodge to colleagues and family...must definitely have more affordable restaurants....staff was very friendly and helpful especially front desk personnel....

Beautiful valley and hills area that is very accessible to many highways to other locations to see.
The lovely Silveroaks property has a rural, cross country trail 5Km Parkrun with toilets facilities and a lovely seated garden setting to relax , eat and drink after doing the 5Km course.
Take your own refreshments as the SilverSpur Cafe at Silveroaks Parkrun may only be food provided at seasonal times , but the cafe lounge and toilets are available to use anytime.

The food was excellent and the welcome exceptional at our accommodation. It would have been good if we had had the time to explore the surrounding area. We did not visit Heidelberg town so am unable to comment. The countryside was lovely

It's an absolute beaut to stay on the River.
It's an absolute beaut to stay on the River.
Indoor braai and the walks down to the riverside was awesome.
Ample space.
The Double Bunks make up for more space for more people which is great.
The cupboards was dirty
And the fridge had a smell
All in all very nice stay.
The Bees came out the Sunday but scary though just glad it was after we had a blast there.

Very clean, nice pool and braai area. Nice place to use ur boat. Wifi not working all the time…bad signal. Orher guests were allowed to move furniture from other rooms and they were partying, drinking, singing and smoking dagga all through the night. And still going at 10h00 on Christmas morning. We left on Christmas day…2 days earlier.

If the relaxed farm experience & countryside appeal to you...
If the relaxed farm experience & countryside appeal to you it is worth making the little detour from Heidelberg to Slangrivier from there it is a few km to the Malgas ferry which is the only one in South Africa. Take your vehicle over the Breede river on the Ferry this is a cool experience .
Next stop De Hoop Nature reserve to enjoy the unspoilt white beaches
and dunes truly beautiful making your way to Cape Agulhas with it's
rugged beauty. There is so much to explore take at least 4 days to visit al
the different places this area has got to offer.

We booked this accommodation because it was close to the party venue in Heidelberg Central. Very quiet and peaceful suburb. Some streets are however full of potholes and some lack street names, which made finding the place difficult.

The indoor market is a must visit.
The indoor market is a must visit. The only general dealer in Witsand has a wide variety of products in stock at only a little bit more expensive than the big supermarkets. We felt very safe during our stay and the ladies and children could walk everywhere without feeling unsafe. Remember to check on the restaurant specials at the beach and don't forget the excellent roosterkoek at the indoor market.
