Our stay at Cliffhanger Cottages was incredible and we would highly recommend it to anyone. The attention to detail left us wanting for nothing and we were absolutely blown away by the views, visible from everywhere in the cottage, including the shower!
The braii on the balcony & watching the sunset over the mountains are truly highlights of a wonderful trip on the garden route.
Close enough to Knysna for shops etc. but distanced enough to fully immerse and hear nothing but nature.
Some amazing hikes nearby with waterfalls and streams to bathe in during the summer months.
We'll definitely be back next time!

Location is simply impressive. Open your door onto the lagoon. The old charming heritage cabins smell so divine and the setting of each one so unique. Nestled between lush vampires of palms and Milkwood trees and each with a lovely terrace balcony with an interesting view. Well fitted with all the amenities needed in a kitchen or stay. The staff so friendly and helpful and the team put on a splendid New Year’s Eve cocktail and bubbly event to enjoy the New Year’s Eve overlooking the beauty of the Knysna lagoon.

The spot is just sumptuous, with views over the wetlands and the winding river. The staff were all incredible and provided such a personalised service. The breakfasts and dinners we had at the restaurant were simply delicious. The styling and views of the room throughout the hotel were incredible and made you feel so connected to nature and provided an excellent environment to disconnect and relax.

The location in the forest is very unique and it felt like being on a treehouse. We had an amazing time and excellent dinner on the sundeck with a fantastic view (monkeys in the forest). This is the place to relax.

We had a good stay here at Lakeside Lodge. Comfortable and everything we needed. The view was awesome. A fan would have been great, but overall it was nice. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. We ended up staying an extra night.

A beautiful town, clean, with stunning beaches. Many restaurants to eat at, really loved the Market off Main. We also enjoyed the Robberg Nature Reserve hike. We loved our stay there and will definitely go back.

Great place for a week end especially in summer.
Great place for a week end especially in summer. Adequate shops, coffee shops etc. Nice fish n chips, restaurants and lots of lovely places nearby like Wilderness Knysna etc. Lovely drives up the hills. Views beautiful, riding bikes fine. Walks to Gerickes point.

A beautiful region, with excellent restaurants. The Grootrivier and (Western Cape part of) the Bloukrans River passes are exceptional, as is Nature's Valley.
The Birds of Eden is THE world leading bird conservancy -- the biggest anywhere with free flying birds in a magnificent forest with a beautiful kloof, waterfall ,,, The nearby Monkeyland and Jukani conservancies are also probably the best in Africa.
Thyme & Again restaurant is also a favourite.

We loved staying at Waves and Whales so much! Exceeded our expectations and we had such a warm welcome. Communication was clear and perfect from when we made our booking and even after our stay.
Beautiful views, stunning decor and everything and more is there...for your comfort and convenience. We loved every sunset and spent hours on the patio.
We really enjoyed our time as a family and made beautiful memories.. we would love to return in the near future! Thanks for a great time and all your love and effort that you had put into your little gem! We've noticed it from the 1st moment of our arrival and appreciate it more than words could explain! Looking forward to our next stay

Natures Valley is very special.
Natures Valley is very special. Most other bays in the area are over developed and commercialised. Natures Valley still captures the time when going to the beach was not all about how magnificent your property was. Lets hope it stays that way.

vibrant and full of many different activates that you are spoilt for choices. There are animals encounter, extreme trail bike riding or tree top swings. not to mention the large amount different restaurant/cafes to choose from.

The number of bergies or street people hanging at the SPAR...
The number of bergies or street people hanging at the SPAR and surrounding area for the size of town was disconcerting. Nearly had an incident regarding the snatch of a cell phone. Wonderful little town with good restaurants and upkeep of paths and benches wonderful to see. Clear marking of dog friendly beaches helpful.
