Misty Hills Country Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The thatched-roof bungalows are spacious with lovely interior décor and furniture, and are laid out along many winding brick paths in a lush tropical setting with flowers, shrubs, and trees, some with botanical labels on them. Along the paths are many splendid African art carvings, statues, small flowing brooks, ponds, and beautiful scenic views. The grounds have been meticulously planned and laid out, as have the rooms and buildings on the many acres in this resort. Each room, dining area, meeting room, and the reception area are adorned with African art—sculptures, paintings, and historic artefacts/memorabilia, with windows that look out in to the tropical gardens and trees. The service is first class. The accompanying huge breakfast buffet has dozens of choices of fresh fruit, warm and cold meats, special dishes, cheeses, cereals, and pastries, with several people ready to cook any personal preference you may have, as well as table service in the large dining hall with its African motif surrounding you. Of course, the world-renowned Carnivore restaurant is on the Misty Hills grounds and is a real treat for those who enjoy a meal of game in a festive setting with meat delivered to your table on large skewers. There is also a nice dining room with a good lunch and dinner menu adjacent to the reception area. In every way, this hotel is great and a wonderful experience; we’re from Canada and have returned every time we’re in the Johannesburg area.

A Memorable Escape at Cradle Moon Game Lodge
Our stay at Cradle Moon Game Lodge was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism.
Daniel at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful, providing us with all the information we needed to make the most of our visit. His warm smile and welcoming attitude set the tone for our stay.
A special shoutout goes to Terrence, our game drive guide, whom my son fondly referred to as the “Walking Encyclopedia.” His passion for wildlife and deep knowledge made the entire experience unforgettable. Every animal we encountered came with an interesting and educational story, making the game drive not just fun but also enriching for all of us.
Brette, who took us on the boat ride, was a true professional. He made us feel completely safe and comfortable while allowing us to fully enjoy the peaceful beauty of the water and its surroundings.
We were also looked after so well by Janet, our waiter, and James at the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious—every meal was a treat, and the service was attentive and warm.
We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay at Cradle Moon. The combination of stunning nature, outstanding hospitality, and passionate staff made this a trip to remember. Thank you to the entire team for making our experience so special—we will definitely be back!

We are two young girls went on a trip to South Africa.
We had a wonderful experience thanks to Marie and Johan. From the room itself to all the advice and help we needed, they were always there for us. They consistently went above and beyond to make sure everything was comfortable and smooth during our stay.
The place itself is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature, and has such a calming and peaceful atmosphere. It is also very well located, close to so many interesting places and activities to explore nearby.
Marie and Johan are genuinely kind, caring, and attentive people, and it truly made a difference to feel so well supported. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a welcoming and reliable place to stay.

The lodge is very peaceful, surrounded by nature. A perfect getaway spot not far from Johannesburg. The chalets are fantastic and spacious with all necessary equipment. We had very warm bedding and heaters for winter, plus a fire outside during dinner. Hastings, the lodge manager was absolutely delightful and so accommodating! He made our stay a very special one! Levy, the chef served beautifully plated breakfasts and dinners with very generous portions. We hiked around the lodge with free roaming animals (blessbok, monkeys, various birds). A truly wonderful experience! We would return in a heartbeat.

We have discovered a piece of heaven this weekend. So much care was giving to the development of this property and all the amenities that come with it. Mark and Caroline were amazing hosts. No amount of trouble was spared to make our stay a most enjoyable one. Breakfast was a veritable feast to appease all guests. We will certainly recommend Stone Hill to our family and friends and we (as well as the doggie) will be back. Thank you very much.

Was there for the Alma Mater International School and its beautiful and well maintained but the Municipality of Krugersdorp is letting down the area. They need to do more to revive even the old areas, set standards for all owners of properties to keep their places clean, some areas the municipality does not even clean. The area has potential and is not congested, just needs love and commitment, levies and rates be channeled correctly.

We really enjoyed the farm animals around the property, the cottage was neat and clean with sufficient supply of crockery/cutlery etc. Tinus made a braai for us and made sure the kids were catered for as well. Overall great stay and experience will definitely recommend it if you want some peace and quiet.

I want to live here! It's peaceful, quiet, I have never experienced silence like that. It was beautiful.
The apartment itself was a home away from home. Everything was well thought out, the deco, having everything available for convenience, a gas heater for cold nights, fully equipped kitchen and a gas grill outside, a plunge pool to cool off for hot days/nights, games, a really cool picnic spot, a boma to go make a fire and hang out... I can't type it all out man, just go experience this place. It's the perfect getaway to recharge, relax and just unwind.

We found the place very dirty, fridge,floor,braai stand,bins full of rubbish,the staff drunk. We had to drive go fetch one of their staff from the shebeen to come help us switching the generator which didn’t have diesel, waited again for another one to bring the diesel. It was just a disaster and disappointment Shem. Our guys ended up helping the drunk so called caretaker to fill the generator with diesel through the roof because they didn’t have the door keys were the generator is kept.

This is our second visit to Glenburn Lodge.
This is our second visit to Glenburn Lodge. We enjoyed all the facilities and food. We love the new bathrooms and the airconditioners. Loadshedding struck again and luckly Glenburn has a huge generator. We did not even know about loadshedding. Very friendly staff. We will visit again

My only comment is that the owners are allowing this place to
deteriorate and will require a major effort to recover what it is losing.
On the Saturday there were only twenty (20) people that checked in and on the Sunday there were four (4).
How can an establishment like this be sustainable.
