When our original plans had to be significantly changed, the hotel exceeded all expectations and accommodated us with warmth and care. I am from Australia, visiting with my Mum. The location is exceptional, the river frontage is magical and the gardens, dining areas, pool - just excellent. The room size surprised us, they are big, absolutely spotless, comfortable and had a wooden patio that overlooked the pool and river. The rooms are also quite stylish and the single beds we used, were quality and comfortable. The staff were just so lovely and we got to meet the owners, who were such warm, interesting and lovely people. The location is close to the Wild Coast, but the beach at the river mouth and Leisure Bay close by - were much more fun to visit. I can’t say enough good things about Umtamvuna - highly recommended.
