Everything was great as as others have said. But I want to point out to potential future guests how perfectly orientated this property is. Because it faces north it gets the best of the sun during the day without blinding sunsets, so you really can enjoy the view all day long. Plus it is well protected from the infamous Cape southeaster wind. The proximity of a rocky outcrop provides the added visual interest of waves breaking and birds gathering. There is direct access to the lovely shoreline path with its local flora (some with nicely annotated name tags) and birdlife. Apart from the marine animals (seals, dolphins) and birds (including the distinctive African Black Oystercatcher, of course) we were delighted by an apparently semi-resident tortoise and visits by guinea fowl and a steenbok.

We loved the place, and the family hosting is so kind and cute! Would love to come back, beautiful views, amazing beach. The way there is a bit dodgy, but once you get there it is worth it! Would recommend for a secluded weekend away.

Very nice, the hosts where we stayed was friendly.
Very nice, the hosts where we stayed was friendly. House was equipped with everything and much more. We went to Jolly Roger's and totally loved it. Beach was busy but there were enough place for everyone to get there spot and braai or camp. The children could play in the sea.

I absolutely love St Helena Bay. Every time I visit, I’m blown away by the peace and natural beauty of the place. The beaches are quiet and unspoiled, the sunsets are breathtaking, and there’s truly something special St Helena Bay.(so much so I bought some land) The locals are friendly, the seafood is fresh, and the whole atmosphere just makes you feel relaxed and at home. It’s truly one of my favorite coastal getaways.

Saldanha is a quiet fishing and mining town with lots of interesting places to see. The local fish monger has the best fish and chips. The Weskus Mall is close by with good shops to visit. We visited the fossil museum close by which has very interesting exhibits.

The house is stunning and well laid out.
The house is stunning and well laid out. Braai room is wonderful for family games or just sitting around chatting. Beautiful views of the sea and the green belt allows for wonderful walks. Lena who opened for us was great and available for any questions we had. We will be back and highly recommend this home that has that feels like home away from home.

It's quiet, peaceful venue.
The room is fitted with remarkable detailed wooden furniture pieces, a reminder of a trip down memory lane. I was stunned! The Hostesses are friendly warm people with an eye for detail. Everything was perfect for Peter and myself.

I am from Cape Town, so I am spoiled with many wonderful beaches…. But sadly … few are safe…. Shelley Point is the best location for safety and the most beautiful beaches, views and friendly people! Being in a security estate, you can walk on the beach, cycle in the estate with never ever looking over your shoulder regarding security issues…. And the views and beaches are really spectacluar!

Paternoster is a lovely seaside village and the Paternoster Hotel was convenient as an overnight stay on our trip. However, the hotel could do with some upgrading and renovating as it is old fashioned and tired looking. The beds were comfortable and the shower was good and breakfast was included, so fairly good value for money. Would I stay there again? Probably not, as I think there are better places to stay in Paternoster for a similar cost.

St Helena Bay is a very interesting village. It is conveniently situated on the West Coast within in reach of many small, interesting villages and towns. It faces north over the sea, which makes it ideal. Its close proximity to Cape Town is definitely a bonus.

The town does not have much going. there should be things to do for people booking in. I was there for a different reason. my Mother passed away. so still i would not do a holiday to the town. we are very active people and love to do activities. I will come back to see someone. Or when passing by stop and overnight. I felt that overall the town needed more life.

Quaint little seaside town typical of the West Coast.
We were there for a wedding, and the venue at Togryersvlei was fabulous, as was the Kamenaadjie padstal, where we had dinner the previous evening. Roosterkoek and various meats - delicious !
Try the Melktert jaffels from the deli - we bought some for breakfast the next morning.
