It is a little tricky to find at the end of a small maze of roads and tracks - and that is why it is absolutely one of the top places to stay if you like getting away from it all. The view from the beautiful communal terrace out into the grove of coconut palms and trees, with the promise of the Arabian Sea just beyond that is wonderful. Excellent owner who trusts his lovely staff to get on well with the tasks. Whether guiding that first time route down to the beautiful Thottada beach; serving food or souring a bottle of chilled soda water and lemons.

I've travelled across India and explored various resorts across the length and breadth of the country. The level of hospitality one finds at Niraamaya, Kannur, I must say, is unparalleled. We were here last week for my mom's birthday. We stayed here for four days. And we couldn't have found a better place for the occasion. The property per se is pretty well kept and is a sprawling complex of boarding and recreational facilities. They also offer rejuvenation programmes administered by qualified doctors and have a dedicated spa as well as a wellness studio. The best part of Niraamaya though is that right from the staff at the reception - Anuraj, Shamil, Sanya, Sourav, and Harishma and to the staff at the restaurant - Akshay, Bibin, Antony, Aneesha, and Francis, to the staff from housekeeping to the staff keeping the gate - their ONLY agenda seems to ensure one gets a smooth and a comfortable stay. The more one talks to the staff, the more one understands both how passionate they are in their chosen field and how well the management takes care of them. In our case, for example, we hadn't even informed them earlier that we were coming here for an elderly person's birthday. But the moment the team got to know about it, they went above and beyond to ensure there was a flower decoration, there was a delicious payasam served as a surprise to us, etc. Thank you team for helping us unwind and have a wonderful time.

I was in Kannur at Asokam Beach Resort, the full month of March 2023, and enjoyed every single day! The entire staff really made me feel at home. They really made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Their food is incredibly delicious! I highly recommend to skip every non-Indian dish when you are there: try the regional and local dishes! First time I had Kerala-style lunch served on a banana-leaf! The resort is located less than 10 metres from the Arabian See and surrounded by beautiful nature: coconut- and bananatrees everywhere. Staff is very, very helpful: not a single question is too much, they can tell you about shops, temples, villages you can visit nearby. Especially Rinku (she is the owner of the resort) and Dhanesh (member of the staff) made sure I had the most excellent holiday-experience: from arranging a taxi at 04:00 AM to arranging visits to temple-festivals to buying me a local dress as a good-bye gift!
