The hotel is located in the mountains of Ella. A special van with driver pick up is needed to take you to the property. It is a rough 15 minute drive from the pick up spot to the hotel. Once you reach the hotel, you can understand the rough drive- the minute you enter the hotel, you are greeted by probably the best views you can get in all of Sri Lanka. The room and swimming pool offer the same views and you can spend hours appreciating it. A special mention to Mr. Kawindu who was there for us whenever we needed him - he picked and dropped us to and from the pick up spot regardless of the time, was available at the reception and kitchen helping out with everything! What a guy! Also, shout-out to the entire crew managing different parts of the property for making our stay a memorable one. The room we booked was gorgeous, spacious and very comfortable. Opt for the Sri Lankan breakfast option, the fish curry is not to be missed! Can recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Ella!

Visiting Ella and staying in this homestay just outside the city centre was the highlight of my recent trip to Sri Lanka. The accommodation represents excellent value for money and was more than adequate for the time I spent there. The room was large in size and the homestay in general was built to what I thought was a high level of quality with very high ceilings and lots of wood used throughout the building. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was designed to a high standard. This was easily one of the best examples of a homestay I say anywhere in Sri Lanka. What I found really excellent about this place was the staff, Over the several days I spent at this homestay I got to know Pasindu and Noman and given the excellent rapport I got with these guys I decided to do Wild Steps tour with Pasindu, which was basically a motorbike tour to all the major sites for one day, which I left all the travel planning and guiding to Pasindu. I also was easily convinced on my last night to take part in a Sri Lankan cooking class at the homestay with Noman and Pasindu which gave me a great deal of insight of how to make Sri Lankan food. This involved going to the local market and buying a bunch of ingredients and then coming back to the homestay and making a feast. Both activities were absolutely fantastic! What I can't express enough is what legends both of these guys were and how excellent this accommodation was. In hindsight if I planned my itinerary again I probably would have skipped the rest of my trip going down to the coast (Tangelle, Merissa and Galle) and would have spent the time in Ella, backtracking back to Colombo via Kandy and spending more time in the cultural triangle.

Wonderful family! Exceptional breakfast. A 5-10 minute walk into Ella town so you get a bit of a break from the chaos.

Our stay at Gaga Bees was lovely! Nestled in the heart of the jungle, we stayed in a charming house that provided a truly authentic and thrilling experience. Falling asleep to the sounds of nature was like living a dream. This is the ideal place for anyone looking to truly connect with nature and experience jungle life up close.

The accommodation is excellent, you feel immersed in nature. The host is very helpful, he helped us with planning. Excellent breakfast, big coffee pot! Just ask for thicker blankets before going to bed!
