Το Yakaduru Yala βρίσκεται στην ουδέτερη ζώνη του Εθνικού Πάρκου Yala. Απέχει μόλις 5 λεπτά από την είσοδο του Εθνικού Πάρκου Yala. It was a magnificent experience not only because we saw so much nature and wild animals at a close range but because the staff were the best. Nishantha took us to see a local woman who was so poor yet she used whatever means she had to look after 22 orphaned puppies whose mother had been killed. The level of poverty was astounding. The staff help her to survive. Without them there would be certain death. If you can spare some money please give it to him and he will pass it on. A truly humbling and touching experience that jolts you to the core. Special mention to our mates at Yala who made our stay so memorable Sajith, Kasun, Nishantha and our safari driver Amile. Thanks guys, you are the best!

Good Karma Hotel is located on Rekawa Beach in Tangalle, offering an outdoor pool and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Free parking and a 24-hour front desk are available. I cannot recommend Good Karma Resort highly enough! From the moment we arrived until our departure, every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. The location itself is absolutely stunning – the beachfront setting offers an incredible sense of privacy and tranquility. You genuinely feel like you have an entire stretch of pristine beach to yourselves, which made our time there feel truly special. What really sets Good Karma apart is the exceptional service provided by manager Akila and his outstanding team. Their hospitality went far beyond anything we could have imagined. When I reached out about proposing to my partner, Akila personally helped coordinate every detail – from arranging a secret photographer to capture the moment, to organising a romantic beach dinner that was simply perfect. Also, when my partner fell ill during our stay, Akila immediately assisted us in getting to the hospital, providing support. Then, when Cyclone Ditwa caused our flight to be cancelled, Akila graciously allowed us to stay an extra half day free of charge. This level of hospitality is rare and speaks volumes about the values at Good Karma Resort. We left feeling not just like satisfied guests, but like we'd made genuine friends. If you're looking for a beautiful location paired with truly exceptionalcservice, Good Karma Resort is the place. We'll definitely be back!

We felt like it was a private villa, there’s no crowd on the beach. The staff was excellent and very helpful! The food was great as well. They provided unlimited water. You can also join the fishermen at the beach supporting them to pull the net from the ocean, they are very grateful in return 😉

Very friendly host, very quiet, away from massive tourism, cozy and clean. Nice interior in the room, small but also nice outside territory of the hotel. 3-4 minutes walk from the beach. Beach is almost empty (no people). It’s cool to have long walks on it. Breakfasts are nice, brought to you right to the table on your personal terrace. Lunches and dinners can be provided at the few nearby restaurants, which were also very nice and cozy. You can also visit turtles every evening around 8:30 PM, the host can kindly help you arrange it.

It started when we arrived and were already awaited and greeted by manager John and his girlfriend Adele with big smiles :) They were so very helpful and nice throughout our stay and made the experience perfect. John always had tips for us about where to go and was always available when we had any questions. We were staying in one of their two villas, and it was so nice to have our own living room with comfy couch and even small kitchen with two fridges for drinks. The villas are the most set back from the front of the property and offer perfect privacy if that's what you want. Everything was super clean and nicely furnished - we felt very comfortable. The terrace with lounge chair and sitting area with coffee table was ideal for having a morning coffee and just enjoy the sounds of nature. The staff! Nuan and Ruzindu (I hope I wrote the names correctly) were the two waiters in the restaurant, and they both did a great job. While I do not remember the chef's name, I need to mention him and the kitchen staff as well, because the food there was some of the best we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. Also, Tila, who takes care of the cleaning and gardens, together with another man, whose name I unfortunately can't remember, where truly warm and kind to us and always passed by our villa for a chat whenever they passed. The staff, together with John and Adele made the stay there to what it was - PERFECT! The property itself is simply beautiful: Laid out very well with lush greenery and nicely done paths throughout, there are 5 rooms in total - 2 villas and 3 bungalows. The hotel was planned and designed very thoughtfully and you feel the emphasis on the detail there. It sits on a beautiful stretch of beach, which is always empty and you can walk for miles in any direction. The sea was not swimmable while we were there due to the strong waves, but it was still beautiful just to look at it and enjoy the views.

What a gem! This was without a doubt the highlight of our two week trip to Sri Lanka. The Safari was brilliant, but nothing beat the welcoming luxurious stay of Leopard Reach. We felt like being on a honeymoon in the wooden decked private hut, all amenities taken care of and we couldn’t decide on taking a hot tub for two in the room or plunge in our private pool on our deck. Decided to do all! The staff (glory to Silva and Krishan, who made us feel so very welcome as if we were visiting friends) was amazing, did delicious barbecues at night and took us on a welcoming walk around the premises and alongside rice fields and adjacent nature and wildlife. Worth every penny and wholeheartedly recommended!

This was one of our favorite homestays in Sri Lanka. We booked last minute after a different local hotel cancelled the night before and we're so glad we ended up staying here. There seemed to be 4 rooms, each with a gorgeous view of the lake with large private balconies that had comfy chairs for relaxing in. The rooms were absolutely huge and pristine and had massive comfy beds and plenty of space for hanging clothes. We really appreciated having the fridge, and though there are only small local shops near by the manager sold us bottles of beer from the restaurant that we stored in the fridge and had on the balcony in the evening. Bliss! We also liked the spacious bathroom. The buildings are located in the most lush gardens which are very well maintained by a very smiley, friendly man. The Gardens are also hosts to a beautiful family of grey faced langurs (the nice kind of monkey), chipmunks and so many species of bird it was hard to keep count. A favorite activity was bird watching from the balcony in the early morning. Breakfast was in a raised platform that overlooked the lake and gardens and was so tranquil. We really enjoyed the fresh juice and fruit platters. The location of the accommodation is just a 5 minute walk from the beaches and the manager shared his whatsapp details and was helpful with booking tuktuks and turtle tours. There were peddle bikes available free to use and also kayaks for the lake. We had hired a tuktuk and this area was perfect for learning how to drive it, with long very quiet roads. On the odd occasion we couldn't start the tuktuk the manager was very helpful and supportive and got it started for us without us really having to ask. We didn't catch his name, but the manager was a gem and so very helpful. We only wish we could have stayed here longer! The local village is very quiet and peaceful, so this is the perfect location to really chill and enjoy nature and the slow pace of local life.

It was super spacious, very clean and the family was just absolutely lovely! I unfortunately was a bit ill with the flu when I was there so I spent a few days in bed. So I’m glad it was comfortable to stay there. It’s super close to the beach which is beautiful! It also had some nice restaurants nearby. And the breakfast was simple but good. I do think you need to have a scooter if you would like to explore more of Tangalle. I did rent a scooter from the property and I have to say it was not the safest scooter I’ve had. If driving a bit fast, the whole bike started shaking and the breaks were not the best. However for my use it was okay. I would definitely stay here again if I ever go back to Tangalle.
