Beautiful modern yet traditional place with excellent service from reservation all the way throughout the stay to check-out. Staff are amazing without exception. Excellent breakfast, with various hot food options to choose from, served on the roof top with distant sea-view. Fireplace in the room lit on cold evenings. Comfortable beds, smart and chic room layout, hot shower with good water pressure. For people sharing a room: the bathroom door may not block sight nor sound. WiFi available throughout the property. Pets allowed (check ahead for surcharge); you may be lucky to meet the cute resident dog and cat. The Riad is on a narrow alley inside the pedestrian-only old town (Medina) and you can thus hear what is going on around you in the hotel and in the streets. Call ahead for assistance with parking just outside the Medina walls.

A Perfect Escape in Essaouira! We absolutely loved our stay at Mama Lova! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome – check-in was a breeze, and we instantly felt right at home. Each morning started with a fantastic breakfast spread, full of delicious options that kept us happily fueled for a day of exploring. And let me tell you, the beds were so comfortable! We ended up sleeping a solid 10 hours the first night, which is unusual for us – a true testament to how cozy it was. The rooftop was something special, with incredible views over the city – honestly, I think it’s the best view in all of Essaouira. We spent so much time up there just soaking it all in. The hotel’s location couldn’t have been better either; we were close to everything, making it easy to stroll around and enjoy all the charm of the city. The entire property was spotless, well-kept, and had such a lovely, welcoming feel – and for a very reasonable price too! Our room was not only impeccably clean and cozy, but it was also well soundproofed, which gave us a peaceful retreat at the end of each day. Even the water pressure was excellent – a small detail, but it really added to the comfort! The Wi-Fi worked perfectly everywhere, right up to the rooftop, which made it easy to stay connected while enjoying those stunning views. Mama Lova is one of those places that you leave already wanting to come back. For anyone looking for a friendly, beautiful place to stay in Essaouira, I couldn’t recommend it more. We left with happy hearts, big smiles, and can’t wait to return!

We felt totally at home here, Hamid & Zara made sure we were comfortable & helped us with things to do & see. Their breakfast is amazing just for 5 euros/50dhms bargain vaue for money & so nourishing. Location of this Riad is perfect away from all the noise of the Souk but only like 2 mins walk from of it, therefore its ideal. Park your car at Bab Parking for 2 euros a day & 5 at night a straight 10 mins walk to the Riad, there are baggage handlers for 5 euros that will take your bags in a trolley to the Riads door.

Amazing location, spectacularly furnished riad. Simo, the host, was the best you could hope for, gave great recommendations for our short stay. Lovely breakfast and coffee provided. I’ve stayed in 2 other riads in essaouira over the last couple of years which were much more expensive and much less enjoyable. If this is in your budget Don’t bother shopping around - just book it.

Beautiful dar, decorated with taste, mixing modern and traditional elements, we especially loved the terrace. The location is perfect - close to the main streets of the medina, near the petit taxi ranks, yet quiet at night. We would also like to praise the soul of this dar - Amina. She is the most adorable person, so sweet and helpful. She was always there, ready to help or simply have a chat. And her breakfast was amazing! ❤️ She loves cooking and even offers cooking classes if you’d like a local experience! Amina is the perfect example of Moroccan hospitality. We truly hope to come back one day!
