Really beautiful setting in the jungle, rooms felt traditional but spacious and luxurious, with windows overlooking the vegetation. Big comfortable bed. We were so well looked after, food was delicious healthy Sri Lankan food, they even made us a pack up for our sunrise hike up sigriya and the evening herbal teas were delicious. Pool practically private as only two other guests there, and you could spot sunbirds from the pool. We took a walk around the lake in the evenings, lots of great bird life and views over paddy fields. This place was our favourite on our visit and felt like a real hidden gem. Dinner $15 with plenty of food and fresh fruit, we didn’t go outside the property to eat but I doubt limited options.

The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming. They went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed – from preparing a last-minute dinner, to arranging a tuk-tuk at 4 am, to booking a jeep for our safari. Always smiling, they made us feel truly at home. Their cooking is a must-try: authentic, full of flavor, and absolutely delicious. Staying here was a wonderful experience.

Set in beautiful location, surrounded by jungle. Room was super clean. Breakfast amazing with different varieties such as eggs, fruit, coconut pancakes, big pot of good strong coffee and much more. It takes 3 minutes to walk to the main road. Restaurants and atm walking distance. Sigiriya rock again walking distance. Host was amazing, helpful and kind. I would definitely go back. We loved it there.

My experience at Thal Sewana Hotel was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, my girlfriend and I were welcomed with a warmth and hospitality that could only come from its owner, who is undoubtedly one of the kindest and sweetest people we’ve ever met. The hotel is the perfect place to disconnect from the technological world and reconnect with nature. Surrounded by tranquility, this little paradise has all the necessary amenities to relax and enjoy the beauty of Sigiriya. Every detail of the place is designed to provide a unique experience, and waking up every morning to a stunning view of Pidurangala Mountain while having breakfast is simply priceless. I especially want to thank the owner for her attention and care in preparing my meals, knowing that I am allergic to sesame. Her thoughtfulness and effort to ensure I could eat safely is something I deeply appreciate. That level of detail and kindness made our stay even more special.
