Great location, centre of town with nice view of battlements and towards Tui. Quite, clean with comfortable bed, smallish shower but ok. Window in bathroom. Good value place to stay.

This is great little hotel.The hosts were very accommodating.and the hotel was very clean and comfortable.They have a limited dinner menu but it was very good with a nice breakfast.Its an easy 10 minutes off the Camino.We would stay again.

Located in the center of Valença, Hotel Lara is an excellent base for exploring this historic town. It features modern rooms with balconies and a breakfast room overlooking the fortress.

Convenient location for the Camino and right near the old fort, which is very cool to explore. Rooms are a good size and well-appointed.

Location: Exceptional. The hotel is located in the 17th century fortress with great views for the Minho river and Spain on the other bank of the river. Surrounded by the lovely old town constructed inside the fortress. The hotel is located at the Caminho de Santiago, so the daily rhythm is different – everything closes early and opens early according to the pilgrims’ needs. Do not expect any restaurant (including the hotel restaurant) open at 21:00. Access by car is challenging as you must cross three narrow gates to enter the fortress. Hotel: Huge common space with views for the river and fortifications. Regular size tables for reading on work available. Room: Large and comfortable, bag rack available electric sockets: available, but only one and not near the bed lighting: good, including a ceiling lamp Stairs/elevator: hotel rooms are located on the upper level, no elevator. Bed: large and very comfortable. Bathroom: Large, warm, enough space for toiletries. Breakfast: Good (but not excellent), sweets, fruits, ham and cheese. WiFi: Good. Staff: Nice and helpful. Parking: free street parking at the hotel walls.

Sound of birds and fountains. Views of garden and vineyards. Scent of orange trees. Welcoming staff. Sitting in cool of eveni g witha glass of estate wine. House is exceptional better than any hotel. I went to the thermal spa, so enjoyed town within fortress of Moncao. Cycled on ecopista both sides of river. SOLAR de SErrada is out of town but taxis available. breakfast very generous. I loved the jug of coffee so that I could pour my own preference.
