Set in a historical building, a 4-minute walk from Huayan Temple East Plaza, Pipa Hotel offers accommodation in Datong City. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Everything at the hotel was exceptional: the clean rooms, bathrooms, the delicious breakfast, coffee available all day (for a small fee), the location in the middle of the ancient city. The hotel staff was especially nice. Questions were answered in English (if an English speaker was available) or with the use of a translation app. We could book train reservations and a taxi ride to the Hanging Temple. The directions for using the city bus for the Yungang Grottoes were very good. All in all, I would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants a several-day stay.

Super friendly and serviceminded host, employees and host family. Beautiful traditional guesthouse in a quiet street inside the walls of the old city. The breakfast was very nice, the backyard was very well decorated and calming. Our taxi driver from the train station called the guesthouse, so the owner came and picked up the luggage into the ancient city. Highly recommended . Thank you. Amazing location, right in the center of ancient town of Pingyao but still very quiet. The room is very beautiful, clean and there is all you need for a comfortable stay. Ji is amazing. I highly recommend a short or longer stay at the Ji Family Courtyard Inn.

This is a family-run hotel with the whole family pitching in. They were delightful and keen to be helpful with lots of cups of tea, advice and assistance with purchasing tickets. It felt like I was staying with friends. Very little english, but fearless with using translation apps. Very thoughtful - gave me a bottle of water for the train home after dropping me at the station. The standout for this property was the staff. I wish them every success with their business.

Wonderful family - all very helpful and speaking excellent English. Breakfast is delicious. Location is just perfect. The yards and the common areas are as if you were in a set of an ancient China’s movie.

Everything you needed and more. On site parking, beautiful structure. Lovely breakfast with so much choice. Good location.
