The variety of dishes served was impressive. The staff also offered to create onigiri (rice balls) out of my unfinished breakfast. - The staff were very warm and accommodating and their interactions with guests contributed to the ryokan's very homely atmosphere. As a thoughtful gesture they gave me an akabeko keychain upon checkout as a souvenir - The private hinoki bath was a delight (note: you have to book it in advance during check-in) - The futon in my room was exceptionally fluffy and I slept really well

Dormy Inn Express Koriyama is a 5-minute walk from Koriyama Train Station. It features air-conditioned rooms with free wired internet and large public baths for both men and women. It's like, our price may be higher than other Japanese-branded hotels, but just pay that price and we'll take care of you. They really did take care of me. I have stayed at many Dormy Inns but I'm not sure if the washing was complimentary. This time it was. You only have to use 100yen for the drying. Very very helpful. Of course the usual freebies are still there and great. Evening ramen they call half-serving but really more than enough for me. They still have the popsicles and yakult. Still love the sauna! I read a review about how far it was from the station. Not true at all. It's very accessible from the train station elevated walkway. There's elevator access at the building next to Dormy Inn and annexed to the walkway, Don't worry about your luggage.

Staff very kind, very good breakfast with both Japanese and Western options. Spacious room was very clean . I liked that my window could be opened. As a solo female traveller i felt very safe in the hotel. I was sorry to leave.
