Situated along Tanohara River and surrounded by tranquil nature in Kurokawa Onsen hot spring area, Oku no Yu Ryokan offers charming Japanese-style accommodation and various hot spring baths. Service was flawless, the food was perfect, and the baths were great. My room was good for my needs, it was quiet, and the waterfall and rivers outside was a great source of white noise. Highly recommend for a peaceful stay!

Located in the heart of the city, Hotel Nikko Kumamoto features accommodations with free wired internet access and views of Kumamoto Castle. High-level service. The hotel is a bit dated, but its very central location makes it great value for money.

The food is delicious. The Kaiseki is nothing fancy, but it is all very well prepared and a great experience. There are various onsens, most of them we could enjoy almost by ourselves. Definitely recommend Okyakuya to anyone visiting Japan!

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. What's not to like? From the moment we entered the parking we were treated like VIPs. We're not used to that! The room with its own onsen was really spacious and quiet. The property is beautifully landscaped. We didn't try the public indoor onsen, but the outside ones were lovely. Meals were beautiful and tasty and the servers were so kind. We also got an onsen pass and tried some other onsen in the town the following day - highly recommend but not needed with all the facilities here. It was a really nice treat to stay here.

We also tried the public onsen facilities, which were just as wonderful, with a tranquil atmosphere and stunning natural surroundings. The absolute highlight of our stay was the food. Both dinner and breakfast were traditional Japanese meals, and every dish was outstanding, beautifully presented and full of flavor. You could tell each element was prepared with care and passion. If you're looking for an authentic and unforgettable Japanese ryokan experience, I can't recommend this place enough.

Het Ryokan Ayu no Sato is opgericht in 1941 en gerenoveerd in 2005. Nothing dislike. If have a pair of Clogs, that will be prefect.

Ryokan Kono-Yu biedt zelfstandige, Japans ingerichte huizen en maisonnettes met een eigen warmwaterbron-bad in de buitenlucht. The staff were very attentive and polite, and spoke excellent english.
