The Galle Fort Hotel began life as an 18th Century Dutch villa and along the way has taken many guises from RAF barracks, post office, bakery, lapidary and in the recent past a pitch for the Fort’s young cricketers. The property is beautiful and well maintained. We loved the customer service, everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Additionally, we were taught how to cook jackfruit and banana flower. After cooking, we enjoyed a communal dinner. The breakfasts are fresh and delicious. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with everything necessary provided. It’s convenient for both short stays and longer-term visits. Thank you for the hospitality. We highly recommend this place for staying in Hikkaduwa!
