Each bright room at Fredriksten Hotell has a simple décor with modern furnishings. All come with a private bathroom while some also have a sofa or seating area. 2nd time in this hotel, I came back for the location, food & friendly staff. Again was pleasantly surprised like the 1st time! The hotel is such an overlooked gem with the Fredriksten fort right next door.

Moss Hotel & Apartments’s rooms feature modern décor, a private bathroom and cable TV channels. Some overlook the cobbled streets of Moss’s town centre. The location was close to the town center and close to everything. The staff was extremely friendly and supportive. The breakfast included all from cereal to cooked breakfast.

A continental breakfast is served at the neighbouring restaurant, Gamlebyen Gjestgiveri, where Gamlebyen Hotell - Fredrikstad's guests are offered discounts on some lunch and dinner dishes. It is amazing to stay inside Gamlebyen. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite off of the central plaza. What you are paying for is partly the experience of staying in something historical and authentic and being in the heart of the old city. It is a unique experience to stay here. You can see and feel the history of the structure and imagine what it would have been like living in the area hundreds of years ago. At the same time it is updated with everything you could want including a washer and dryer. The private courtyard was lovely at night and in the morning. The artwork on the walls is also phenomenal. This suite is very rich in texture and was just beautiful. The bedroom on the main level had a glass door (with a wooden dutch door outside). You could open it up to the courtyard, which was a lovely touch. There is another bedroom upstairs along with the large kitchen and living room. Downstairs is the main bedroom and 3/4 bathroom with the washer and dryer. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Wished I would have taken photos of the upper floors to post here.

Some rooms include a seating area, while others have a private, furnished balcony overlooking the Oslofjord. Breakfast was great! Lots of variety to choose from. The location was recommended by family who live in Moss and they were right!

The hotel and staff were so nice, I would definitely come back. The meal was so delicious.

Waterpark is available at an additional cost. Other facilities include free WiFi, a restaurant and a café. I liked that it was possible to pay for swimming pool and playground at the reception for 2days staying immediately. Rom was ok, bed was soft and big. Breakfast buffet was tasty,a lot to choose from. Swimming pool and playground were close to each other. Didn't have to go out. A lot activities for the kids. Big parking outside.
