I spent 20 days in the Azores. but the best came at the end. I was allowed to spend 3 nights at Quinta do Espirito Santa with Lucilia and Francisco Maduro slides. I was allowed to spend my stay in a beautiful outbuilding of the Quinta. The house and the rooms in it are lovingly furnished. You are transported to another distant time. But the two hosts are definitely the highlight. I have never experienced such warm hosts. A hearty breakfast with many local specialties was served in the main building. The two gentlemen had a lot to tell and gave me an old insight into life on the Azorn and Terceira. We especially liked the conversations with Francisco. I was able to take away and learn a lot from his knowledge as a history professor. I highly recommend Quinta do Espirito Santo as a place to stay. The hosts receive 1000 points from me. Great location and comfortable room for the price. Margarida was a wonderful host making sure we had everything we needed yet also giving us privacy - she even invited us to the patio for dessert and music with her family upon our arrival! The communal kitchen was a plus with a fridge shelf for groceries, plenty of coffee/tea, cooking materials, and cereals.

Room was spacious with a king size bed which was very comfortable. Room had a little balcony with table and chairs which was perfect for us as this was our last stop and we wanted somewhere to just relax. Pool was nice, we relaxed there almost the entire day. The location is good, very walkable and within steps from a restaurant and grocery store and 10 minutes walking to the water where there’s tons of restaurants and the beach. Beautiful spot!

She brought me fresh bananas when I got there and the most fantastic dessert when I left. There is a laundromat just down the street and grocery straight across. Mount Brasil is a short walk but you're also very close to the tour booths where they rent bicycles too. Or just walk down Pedro to eat on the west side of the town square.
