Situated at the base of the wild Tsitsikamma Mountains, The Fernery overlooks an impressive 30-metre waterfall in the Sanddrift River gorge. This is a piece of paradise. The chalet is very comfortable and well equipped and maintained. The restaurant offers excellent food options. The breakfast is amazing. I recommend staying here at least for three nights.

Garden Route Game Lodge is located near Albertinia, overlooking the Langeberg Mountain Range. It is surrounded by lush vegetation and various animals can often be seen. When you arrive, you get greeted immediately, and staff would help you with your luggage to the room. The rooms are all beautiful, and the drives are fantastic. I was very happy about how mindful our guide (Cathy) was towards the animals (If there were other cars near a certain animal, we would try to come back later. She kept good distances), and how knowledgeable she is. She tried to really find all the animals (except leopard, as they would be exceptional to find). I would really recommend staying 2 nights, so you have enough game drives to also go and see the giraffes (they live further away in the reserve). The dinner is fantastic, the breakfast is fantastic, and the morning coffee with a view of the elephants really ties everything together (they also live in the big reserve, but tend to come into view in the morning). The staff is all really nice, and the spa treatments are not too expensive.

Nestled at the eastern head of Knysna, this luxurious, pet-friendly hotel boasts a championship golf course, a restaurant and a spa. Free WiFi is provided. Super clean and beautifull rooms with a nice view of the garden. The view from the outdoor swimming pool is amazing but unfortunetely it was too cold to swim outside. They do have an indoor heated swimming pool as well so that is very nice. The african aromatic massage was really relaxing and good. The breakfast was very good as well as lunch and dinner.

Offering views of the Touws River, Pearl Moon Boutique Suites is located in Wilderness, 800 metres from the village centre and close to the beach. Free private parking is available on site. Our Host Carmina was so helpful and welcoming. The units are beautifully decorated and have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The views are amazing and even though it was raining hard, we just sat and stared out the windows. The beds are super comfy and the little kitchenette was all we needed. When we stay in Wilderness again it will be here!!!

Offering panoramic sea views and a private barbecue area, Archrock Resort is located on the beachfront in Keurboomstrand, 14 km from Plettenberg Bay and 5 km from the Keurboomsriver. One of our favorite places and highlight in the garden route. Best location in Plettenberg and lovely terrace with the most amazing view. Lots of dolphins playing around in front of the property.

Breakfast was by far the best we had during our holiday. Owners happened to be there and were lovely too. The staff were amazing and always made sure we had whatever we needed.
