-Safety briefing! They go the extra mile by doing this, what others don't do. -They brought my luggage upstairs, readily placed inside my room upon check-in hour. I was out exploring because I arrived in the morning. Another exceptional gesture is that they placed a plastic mat under my luggage, to ensure the place was kept clean. I love this! -They prepared one cold water and one hot water thermos in the room. Although there is no kettle provided, this is enough for me. -Definitely the traditional building setup, interiors and all which is the ultimate reason I booked with them. And I love the fact that they provided the yukata, what a dream came true! -I would say that having a spacious room in Japan is a luxury. It's like a mini house for me, a great personal space for a solo traveler like me. -I will say that I loved everything about this place! I felt lucky that I was able to get a room like this even though it was just 1 month before my travel date. I would have extended my stay but the room was no longer available.

Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely fantastic. The master chef, Mr, Ito was exceptional. I have traveled several countries with well-known gastronomy including France one month ago and Italy 2 weeks ago. Food at Chalet Ivy was by far the best. It should be on the Michelin star restaurant list.

Everything. The staff were incredible. The baths were fantastic, I especially liked the outdoor one. The food was amazing and there were lots of snacks available at set times and teas and coffees available 24/7 on both floors. I also booked a private bath and the hot marble (?) floor 'bed' for no extra cost. Excellent location for getting to the free foot baths/shrines/parks/bridge. When you check in you can choose a small colour canvas to customise your room and you get to pick from four different types of sampoos etc. I find Japan does really cover the small details like these well in hotels, but this place went the extra mile. It is incredible value for money and I recommend half board as well as the meals were delicious. Dining at dinner felt like a special event (in comfy Yukata). The app said communal bathroom, but it means communal shower rooms (in the baths). You get your own fancy Japanese toilet. They also run a free shuttle bus from Sapporo and back. I really liked that it was a females only.. Sorry if there are any spelling errors, I got nail extensions in Tokyo and I'm not used to them yet.

The hotel has a wonderful ryokan feel to it which makes it such a special stay. The room was surprisingly spacious considering it is a hotel in a major city in Japan. The breakfast was delicious. The onsen was a wonderful feature in the hotel to experience the Japanese culture.

Great ryokan style accommodation plus onsite onsen experience, room was great albeit a tad small for 2 big luggages. Otherwise everything was near perfect, love the whole design of the hotel all the way from the entrance, lobby, lifts and room.

This hotel is located centrally but when we stepped inside, we felt like we were in peace! The room is very tastefully furnished in the style of a japanese guest house with tatami mats on the floor. It is equipped with all important amenities and complimentary water, tea and small snacks. The staff is friendly and attentive. The onsen is well maintained and has a sauna as well as high-quality care products.
