Very good standard of accommodation, very spacious clean room and toilet with all required amenities. The open air Onsen too was a lovely experience and had a very good standard. The Japanese garden was also nice. We booked for that Ryokan experience on our holiday and we most certainly enjoyed our stay which was very comfortable.

Staff and service were beyond expectations. And they were wonderful with our children (9 & 12yo). They also setup the futons for us while we were out for dinner. We really wished we stayed more than one night - we will be back!

Situated a 10-minute walk from lively Kawaramachi area, Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei offers Japanese-style accommodation with modern facilities and traditional design. It provides a tour desk and a bar on the ground floor. Free WiFi is available in all areas. Good location (close to shopping area and train station) with comfortable futon beds. We would love to have had more days to enjoy more of the hotel’s facilities.

Seikoro Ryokan is located in Kyoto, a 7-minute drive from JR Kyoto Station. Featuring traditional Japanese-style accommodation, it offers a public bath and massage services. Free Wi-Fi access is available at the entire property. It’s a very old Ryokan but it is well maintained. It has its own public bath so you get to experience it without an added cost and it is very convenient. Our room had its own bath too. The dinner was very good, every dish served was good. The Japanese lady who served us was very kind and attentive. I also liked the garden view from the room. The train station is nearby.

Some units in the ryokan have private entrance and are equipped with wardrobe and tatami. Units are complete with a private bathroom, while certain units at the ryokan also provide guests with a seating area. The room was very cosy and comfortable. Perfect for unwinding after busy days of sightseeing and crowds. The bath does wonders for tired legs from walking. The room is stocked with an assortment of free drinks and traditional snacks are provided in the lobby. The location is great, only a 10 minute walk from Kyoto station and close to other public transport. We walked to most of the main attractions. The staff was very helpful and everyone spoke very good English so it was easy to communicate. Our breakfast was cooked with care each morning, making it a great start of each day. We would definitely come back!

The accommodation provides a housekeeping service and private check-in and check-out for guests. The ryokan is beautiful and they serve excellent breakfast and dinner with multiple courses. The spa/bath was very relaxing.

This 4-star ryokan offers a lift and free shuttle service. There is a restaurant serving Japanese cuisine, and free private parking is available. An exceptional ryokan with outstanding service and incredibly polite staff. The atmosphere is peaceful, cozy, and very private. Our room with a private onsen was absolutely amazing, and the kaiseki dinner was unforgettable — truly a culinary experience.

The ryokan serves a vegetarian and vegan breakfast and breakfast in the room is also available. This is a traditional Japanese accommodation, part of a Buddhist temple. The room was impeccably clean, neat, and the host was so sweet to prepare the beds and heat the room for us! He even laid an electric sheet under the table so we would have a space to warm up upon coming! We had Japanese sweets and tea waiting for us, which was perfect for the rainy weather. The host is just a super warm and nice person, although he doesn’t speak English we were able to fully communicate with Google Translate and we didn’t miss anything! Location was amazing! Just at the center of the town, right above the wonderful restaurant - Funaya Kajiya (I highly recommend to book a table in advance) and a walking distance from a really cool cafe in which you can sit and drink it in one of the Funayas. We loved everything about this place and wished we could’ve stayed there at least one more night.
