The spacious ryokan is equipped with 1 bedroom, a fully equipped kitchenette with a microwave and a toaster, and 1 bathroom with a bidet, slippers and a washing machine. The ryokan offers bed linen, towels and laundry service. The house is simply stunning! If you're looking for an authentic stay, this is it. The little garden in the middle of the house really adds to its charm. The bath is the best I've had in the past 5 weeks of traveling around Japan. And the owner is delightful.

Traditional multi-course meals are served for dinner and a Japanese set menu for breakfast. Japanese-style hotel Mizuhasou specialises in fresh seafood and exquisitely prepared local seasonal dishes. Meals are served at the dining room. All the staff is very friendly. Breakfast was very tasty . I recommend it all.

The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. Rooms in the Annex include a private bathroom with a bath and toilet, while rooms in the historical Main Building and Cottage Annex have shared bathrooms and toilets. Beautiful property. We had the half board with multi course traditional Japanese meals. They were amazing but yes, pricey. We wore our traditional Japanese. The hubby used the Osen and said it was fabulous. I didn’t go as I stayed with our 10 year old daughter who didn’t feel comfortable doing it. The staff was helpful and courteous. We left our bags with them on the day of checkout and they brought us to the ferry around 14.30.

The ryokan features family rooms. - When we checked in, they explained in great detail what to visit on the island (including highest/lowest tide times for the O-torii gate) and the recommended paths for the top of Mt Misen - We opted for the half board solutions and both dinner and breakfast were among the best we had during our entire stay in Japan - Room was a traditional Japanese setting. Cozy and with a nice view on the outside park (with deers wandering around) 10/10 would recommend

Ryoso Kawaguchi, a property with a garden and a shared lounge, is located in Miyajima, 2.7 km from Tsutsumigaura Beach, 100 metres from Five Storey Pagoda, as well as 400 metres from Itsukushima Shrine. This ryokan provides free private parking, free shuttle service and free WiFi. The ryokan features family rooms. This was one of the most unique experiences I have ever had. If you are planning to go to Miyajima instead of doing a day trip stay a night in here and be sure to experience Kaiseki. It was exceptional.
