Guests at Jizokan Matsuya Ryokan stay in rooms with shoji paper screens and traditional futon bedding. All rooms are air-conditioned and include a TV and slippers. Its so nice and clean. All the ryokan style logding one could hope for. Excellent.

A perfect place to experience traditional Japanese hospitality — would definitely stay again!

The 3-star ryokan features mountain views and is 20 km from Zenkoji Temple. The ryokan also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. We loved everything about our stay at Yadoya Shiroganeya. Maki is an excellent host and her mother is an amazing cook! The local food of Nagano was delicious and hand picked by Maki herself. We had fun making friends with the resident pets Fukumaru and Kenta. We were even lucky enough to see snow during our stay, but we were cozy and warm inside at all times. There are so many lovely touches to this property that made it one of the most special places we’ve ever stayed. We hope to visit again!

It was amazing to experience living in a traditional japanese house.

The accommodation offers a hot spring bath, free WiFi throughout the property and family rooms. The service was exceptional and exemplary. They went over and beyond when addressing our requests. The hotel owner even followed us all the way to the convenience store after we had checked out just to give us additional information about our transportation to our next destination.

All guest rooms feature an en suite bathroom, TV and WiFi access. Guests can relax in front of the fire or have a rejuvenating soak in a local hot spring. Several hot springs are situated within a 5-minute walk. Outstanding location, apartment and wonderful staff. The coffee and food in the downstairs cafe is very very good. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved being in nature - Nagano is so beautiful and this location was a very special place to rest relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The staff are so warm and friendly and the food was incredible - you will not go hungry at this hotel! We loved the care that the staff put into each meal and every detail of the space. We also loved the Onsen experience and found the facility to be very clean and easy to use. Our rooms were very clean and spacious, comfortable and enjoyable. We loved our visit and hope to return!

This is a traditional ryokan and therefore it’s important to assess it on its own terms. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it is a lovely place to stay. The staff were wonderful, our room was huge and comfortable, the onsen was beautiful and the food was outstanding. I loved the traditional yukata and samue they provided, and the beauty products in the onsen were great. The location is very good- an agricultural town with fields surrounded by mountains- but it is next to a road so it’s not the most scenic. That said, it is very close to an amazing shrine that is one of the most beautiful holy places I have ever experienced.

Berg Marukaneya is located in Nozawa Onsen, 2 km from Lake Hokuryuko. The ryokan is a 3-minute walk from the nearest ski field and has a ski pass sales point. Guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant. A free public hot spring bath facility called Nakao-no-yu is a minute's stroll away. Amazing time staying at this lovely hotel. They couldn’t have been more accommodating with changes or kinder when we visited.
