This has been my best experience ever in Japan. This ryokan is a peaceful oasis where everything is perfect: the quiet atmosphere, the warmth of the owners, the beauty and comfort of the room, the luxury of the private onsen, and the delicious breakfasts and dinner. Wonderful modern Ryokan, excellent food, and lovely staff! The private onsen is amazing, and the garden is so beautiful. Definitely a recommendation if you are looking for a relaxing, comforting, and memorable experience Japan!

Very delightful stay in the middle of the beppu. Everything is within walking distance and host is very friendly and kind. Highly recommended ! Tatami set up was so comfortable and cosy for the family. Almost like a ryokan but much more friendly to the wallet.

The room was very spacious, and had a private onsen as part of the room. Service and view were wonderful.

Great location with very nice facilities and a cat that likes playing. The host does not speak English and I didn't speak much Japanese, but with a smartphone and a translation app we managed to communicate easily. I was allowed to leave my luggage even before the official time and to my surprise was allowed to check in immediately as the room was free. The private onsen has everything one might need and it can be used from 3pm to 10am. Perfect after a hike around the beautiful area.

Ryokan Fukinoya is an exceptionally wonderful place to stay. The staff members were very gracious, the meals were amazing, and the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. We loved our private onsen. We can't rave enough about Ryokan Fukinoya, definitely a highlight of our trip!

We loved everything about this ryokan! The room, the onsen, the food, and the service were all excellent. We felt as if we were staying in a 5-star hotel with very attentive and considerate hospitality. The generous and delicious kaiseki dinners and the abundant teishoku breakfasts were a highlight. This is truly a place where you can eat well and completely relax.
