Every unit includes a coffee machine, while selected rooms come with a fully equipped kitchenette with a microwave, a stovetop and kitchenware. At the ryokan, each unit has bed linen and towels. The environment of this stay is amazing. There is a koi pond a little stream you can listen to in the night & with the sound of grasshoppers. The villa lent two electric bikes to us, so that we could explore the nearby mountain and its temples. The dinner was amazing (shabu shabu, Japanese hotpot) breakfast was great (traditional Japanese breakfast) everyone in the staff was so friendly
Izumi-Sano
The open-air hot-spring bath at Fudoguchikan is available 24 hours, and separate per gender. The ryokan also houses a lounge, a shop and drinks vending machines. A variety of yukata robes are available for rent, and free parking is on site. One of the most magical places I’ve stayed. Extraordinary onsen, service and walk through a primordial woods to the temple.

Kawachinagano
Featuring a large Japanese garden and natural hot-spring baths, Nanten-En Ryokan offers traditional luxury in a beautiful natural setting. The air-conditioned rooms have tatami flooring and Japanese-style futon beds. They made special food for me as a vegetarian and pregnant! It was an amazing stay, everyone extremely helpful nd friendly. The Onsen was awesome!
Dotonbori, Osaka
Well located in Osaka, Kaneyoshi Ryokan provides an Asian breakfast and free WiFi. This 2-star ryokan offers a lift and full-day security. The accommodation offers luggage storage space, and currency exchange for guests.
The ryokan will provide guests with air-conditioned units offering a tatami, a safety deposit box, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with a bath. The units are equipped with heating facilities.
Kaneyoshi Ryokan was the ideal base for exploring Osaka. The location is unbeatable—right in the center, with a stunning view of the river in a quieter part of Dotonbori. It almost felt too good to be true!
One of my favorite things about this ryokan was its retro, Showa-era charm. If you love that aesthetic, you’ll adore this place. Everything was spotlessly clean, and we slept wonderfully on the futons in an incredibly spacious room—especially by Japanese standards.
The onsen was another highlight. Around 5 PM, it was completely empty, making it the perfect place to relax after a long day of walking.
Lastly, the staff was fantastic—always helpful and ready to answer any questions. The man at the front desk even gave us great tips for both Osaka and Kobe!
If you’re looking for a well-located, nostalgic, and comfortable stay in Osaka, this ryokan is a great choice.
Osaka
2.9 km from Kadoma City History Museum, RYOKAN優勝館Hotel is a recently renovated property situated in Osaka and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. The property features garden and inner courtyard views, and is 3.1 km from Panasonic Museum. The ryokan has parking on-site, a public bath and a 24-hour front desk. I've been to a Ryokan before, 40 years ago. I came to this one with my adult daughter. The location is very unassuming. It's essentially in a suburb or exurb of Osaka. From the train station, it was a fairly long walk to get there and we ended up waiting at the wrong entrance. But once we got things sorted, it was the peaceful Ryokan experience I remembered fro the past. The owners are a husband and wife, and they are darling! We had to use Google translate a lot, but we got along well. The first day was my birthday and their restaurant wasn't open while we stayed there so the owner drove us to the train station so we could go to a restaurant in town. Then she picked us up when we got back. The room was a tatami mat room with a toilet and sink. The bath is to be taken in the onsite onsen. We were given yukata to wear to the onsen and it felt so authentic and relaxing! We had planned to decompress during our stay, which we were able to do nicely - it was so relaxing there. There is a convenience store a block away and a couple of good restaurants a few blocks farther. There is a large, interesting park dedicated to International Peace that we walked to. When it was time for us to leave, they drove us to the train station again. I don't know if they do this for all their clients. We seemed to be the only ones staying there, but it made the experience so memorable. I would definitly stay here again!
Ibaraki
The units come with air conditioning, an oven, a microwave, a coffee machine, a bidet, slippers and a desk. Each unit comes with a safety deposit box and free WiFi, while certain rooms will provide you with a terrace. At the ryokan, units are equipped with bed linen and towels. The owner is so sweet and kind. She made my friend and I feel at home! Definitely recommend getting the breakfast. Her cooking is amazing and will definitely fill up with plenty of energy for the day!
Minoo
Located in Minoo, 10 km from Niiya Shrine and 11 km from Oohara Park, こもれびの宿 明徳庵 provides accommodation with free WiFi, a garden, river views, and access to a sauna and a hot tub. It is set 13 km from Aeon Mall Ibaraki and offers full-day security. The ryokan features family rooms. Our short stay at this hotel was simply magical and we absolutely will be coming back to stay again! We stayed for 2 nights in the Jitoku room in late November which timed perfectly with the peak autumn foliage for Minoh. Our room was beautiful and traditional, with stunning views of the Minoh river and the delicate japanese maples on all sides. The furnishings of our room (and the inn itself) are wonderful - accentuated by beautifully preserved wooden furniture, leadlight lamps and art that decorates the property. It really makes the inn feel like a warm home that you can return to after exploring Minoh for the day. The hosts were polite, dedicated and incredibly welcoming - especially with giving us recommendations for dinner and activities around Minoh (even having a pre-drawn map on hand to help with restaurants). They all spoke good English which was a great help given our very rudimentary Japanese skills. We opted for a Kaiseki Dinner at Otowa Sanso for one night, which in itself deserves its own review - but would highly recommend!! The kaiseki breakfasts prepared each morning by the staff were also delicious, and a highlight of the stay. Our hosts clearly put a lot of love and attention-to-detail into each dish - and we appreciated how they varied the meals day-to-day to ensure we got to sample new dishes each morning. The on-site onsens are the ultimate addition that makes the stay feel super luxurious - there is a small and large bath that can be used freely by guests, which were perfect for the cool autumn nights. One thing to note is the road to the inn was closed to taxis in November when we went due to 紅葉狩り tourism, but the walk was very manageable with our luggage and was about 15-20minutes from Minoh Train Station. Overall, we were incredibly happy with our stay and (hopefully) will be returning many more times in the future!
Minami, Osaka
Ideally situated in Osaka, 旅館竹のや 貸切サウナ風呂 "道頓堀5分"なんば10分" features a continental breakfast and free WiFi. This 5-star ryokan offers a spa experience, with its sauna and hot tub. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, full-day security and luggage storage for guests. The service and amenities were superb. Everything was well thought of . We like that they considered every detail of their guests needs. It’s a unique experience for guests. The private onsen experience was wonderful… again everything we need was there and even more than what we need. We love everything and it made us want to come back again in Osaka and we will stay longer next time.

Super welcome from the staff, including a detailed introduction to the ryokan and how to conduct yourself (delivered in a professional and welcoming manner). Amazing ryokan and relaxing onsen. Highly recommend. Serene surroundings of the beautiful garden and pond. Truly idyllic. Thoughtfully tailored vegan kaiseki for my partner. Taste didn’t 100% hit the mark (see below sole negative comment), but we couldn’t fault the effort that had gone into the meal. Great breakfast. Unique experience (breakfast in a yukata).
I loved the general vibe of the staff and the home was beautiful! It’s a welcoming environment and provides a more authentic cultural experience, being able to sleep on tatami and futons! Also there is a cafe and bar downstairs that serves great drinks!
Nice price for private room even if it's just tatami with futon and fan, I liked it!
A modernized ryokan which doesn't feel neither pandering nor too reinvented. We had a great time in the onsen facility, and at the end of the day we wished we had a couple of nights more to unwind here. Exploring the hotel in the complimentary indoor clothes felt like a long, big hug.
The location is good, close to several subway lines and two railway stations. The Onyado Nono formula combines modern hotel facilities with traditional ryokan elements in a good way, which makes it a comfortable place for older travellers. The breakfast is great, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of toiletries, cool pyjamas. More comfy than yukata.
Perfect location, very central and few minutes walk from the metro station. Sleeping in a ryokan is a great adventure, and the futon beds were very comfortable! Breakfast was nice as well, recommended if you would like to try the whole experience. They kept our luggage in the morning and we found them carried in our room when we checked in later in the afternoon.
Of course the onsen, but also the breakfast room, which looked very friendly and open. The breakfast itself was very good as well, especially nice as it was a traditional breakfast - as well as traditionally served. The room was nice, but of course traditionally small as a Japanese room with futons. We got exactly what we expected as a "typical Japan experience"
Absolutely lovely stay in an authentic ryokan. The welcome treats, yukata (bathrobe), and bath slippers provided were sweet, homey touches. The in-house onsen was a great way to end a long day and unwind.
