We can highly recommend Matsushima Koumura. We stayed 4 nights and were very satisfied with everything. The owners were very nice and welcoming, the house is beautifully decorated and the little onsen perfect. The breakfast we had was very good and tea and coffee free. Everything was also very clean. The location is quiet, yet very close to all the sights in Matsushima.

Tabinoyado Saikawa bevindt zich in Kuroishi, op 33 km van Towada-meer, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. The breakfast is best! We have been in so many full board resorts in Japan. Here is the best home cooked breakfast. Better than namy luxurious resort in the region. Love the wooden floor of the hotel, it creative & unique. The host was best, friendly and helpful. I'm looking forward to her new resort near by.

Kameya Hotel ligt in Tsuruoka, op 3,5 km van Kamo Aquarium, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin en gratis privéparkeren. Amazing Hotel, even though it is a very traditional and old place, the rooms are very modern and renovated with all the amenities one can think of. Onsen is good too, but very hot. The beach is literally just across the road! The rooms all have an ocean view. Staff is extremely friendly and breakfast is also great. Just watch out to book dinner if possible, as there are not many options to eat around town if you don’t want to take the car.

Ichiraku tendo spa & brewery bevindt zich in Tendo, op 30 km van skigebied Zao Onsen, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een gedeelde lounge en een terras. Great all inclusive especially for beer enthusiasts. The room had a lot of space even with the futons laid out. We enjoyed the open air bath in the room and the private onsen. The meals were fantastic especially the dinners.

I cannot describe how amazing the room with private onsen is. Super spacious and comfortable, with a stunning view to the mountains. Breakfast and dinner were delicious (buffet style), enough vegetarian options. There's a free drink bar available for the afternoon/evening hours as well. I didn't use the public bath because they don't allow visible tattoo's though.

Takasagoya Ryokan bevindt zich in Zao Onsen. De ryokan met 3 sterren biedt een restaurant en heeft kamers met airconditioning, gratis WiFi, en een gedeelde badkamer. Our room had a view of the public osen which was nicely lit up at nice. The steam film the hot springs contrasted nicely with the snow. Very friendly and hospitable family. Felt well taken care of. They even came out in the biting cold to clear the snow from our car.

The staff were extremely friendly and very customer service oriented. The room and facilities were of extremely high quality - I felt as if I was in a 5 star hotel. The dinner was perfect. Hot springs are very pleasant.

Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh is situated in the Kamasaki Onsen district in Shiroishi, a 15-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. Where to begin? The room was excellent in size and had a nice feeling to it. The onsen was close by. The staff was so kind and service minded. The whole experience with dinner and breakfast was exceptional, especially the staff member whom served us with excellent English. Just the whole experience was quite wonderful.
