Guests can use the hot spring bath and the public bath, or enjoy sea views. The rooms were spacious and clean. Very comfortable! The bathtub is what sold me on the room! Nice big tub with views over the ocean and hot spring water pumped directly into your bathtub! The included breakfasts were also very good, very large servings, I didn't need lunch the days I had the breakfasts. The on-site onsens were heavenly, the "help yourself" coffee station was great, and the shop had all the things I like from the hotel available to buy ( got caramel apple tea and the lovely skin sets to take home). Highly reccommend this hotel!

We liked that it was a quiet and private space where we could rest without the hustle and bustle of the city. The environment and the layout of the ryokan, creates such a serene space for us. Which was exactly what we wanted. The services and the food it was exceptional. Every meal we had felt like it was so well taken care of and of such high quality. It was so healthy and delicious all at the same time. Every dish was amazing but We would never forget the beef we had there and the seaweed porridge and the many side dishes that came with them those were the highlight for us. It is Japanese style mixed with some western, there are juices, tea, coffee and desserts. The staff serving breakfast was very polite and neat. What we like best is the private room Japanese dinner which we enjoyed for the 3 nights. Very exclusive and different night, different menu. On our last night our dinner was changed from 2nd floor to the 10 floor which allow us to see the night scene of this little town. I highly recommend this for family or honey moon couple. We booked 3 rooms and requested for our rooms to be next to one another and the hotel helped us with this request. The Onsen in this Ryoken was clean and comfortable both indoor and outdoor. Walking from Tendo station to here is about 15 mins. The room is super comfortable, clean, shower and WC separated, well furnished in Japanese style. If I have a chance, will return.

Hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. They made sure we were comfortable with an extra futon, recommended vegetarian places, and showed us the onsen and where to rent equipment. It has a communal vibe, so extroverted people would love it.
- Great hospitality - amazing onsen (both traditional outside the hotel and within the hotel) - yukata - fantastic breakfast
Nice ryokan and Onsen in the room I definitely the highlight. No room service but have a nice lounge with free coffee tea water etc and can work or read a book. Place is in great condition considering how old it is. The public bath is ok nothing special and food is pretty good but again nothing special. Overall we had a nice stay but the place is starting to show its age.
Best location directly next to the chairlift. Friendly owner. Cozy beds. Great atmosphere in Zao Onsen. Onsen Vouchers for other Ryokan Facilities were highly appreciated.
The onsen offers one of the best experiences at Meitoya So. The hotel staff will make the futon bed for you during the evening. The breakfast spread was acceptable. The western bed was comfortable too.
Breakfast is very sumptuous. It is very good. We also like the onsen in the ryokan.
The ryokan is really traditionnal and super cool to sleep and have lunch in. The classic tatami rooms and onsens are a must ! It's a delight after a quite hike in the park to chill around in the facilities. There's even an onsen on the roof that we did not try because we checked in too late so we didn't get the info haha Great surprise was also the adaptability to vegan travelers : they made us a fully vegan breakfast that was super good and filling so thanks for that !
