Amazing Hotel, even though it is a very traditional and old place, the rooms are very modern and renovated with all the amenities one can think of. Onsen is good too, but very hot. The beach is literally just across the road! The rooms all have an ocean view. Staff is extremely friendly and breakfast is also great. Just watch out to book dinner if possible, as there are not many options to eat around town if you don’t want to take the car.

The tatami room was lovely and the bed very comfortable for a futon type. There are a number of different style rooms. We especially booked a room with a private outdoor shower and bath. The food was superb in every respect. There were a number of beers available and, surely, there is a taste to appeal to everyone. The staff were caring and took time to understand the hotel guests. The communal bath was nice and the outdoor areas in general were pleasant. The test of a hotel is to positively answer the question, 'would you stay here again?' Our answer is that we returned after visiting here a year ago, except this time we doubled the length of our stay.

Takasagoya Ryokan bevindt zich in Zao Onsen. De ryokan met 3 sterren biedt een restaurant en heeft kamers met airconditioning, gratis WiFi, en een gedeelde badkamer. The owners/staff are extremely kind and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. They allowed me to check in early and even let me use the onsen in the afternoon after checkout.

Hohoemino Kuyufu Tsuruya heeft natuurlijke warmwaterbronnen en ligt op 15 minuten lopen van het JR-station Tendo en op 50 km van Sendai. Een heerlijk luxe ryokan. We hebben genoten van de ruime kamers, zachte bedden en het warme bad buiten. Personeel was echt super lief en verwende ons met heerlijk eten.

Whether you request a pure Buddhist vegetarian meal or have specific needs, they go the extra mile with care and heart. Communication is smooth in both English and Japanese, which makes everything easy and reassuring. A small team, yet incredibly skillful. I’m truly amazed by their hospitality. This is not just a stay — it’s a rare, heartfelt experience that cannot be exchanged for anything. I feel truly blessed. Thank you so much. Very highly recommended. Miyamaso Takamiya ligt op 10 minuten lopen van de kabelbaan Zao Sky en beschikt over 9 natuurlijke warmwaterbronnen. Friendly staff, excellent meals, traditional ryokan with full of histories!!!

Tendo Hotel is gelegen in Tendo, op 30 km van skigebied Zao Onsen, en biedt accommodatie met gratis fietsen, gratis privéparkeren en een gedeelde lounge. The breakfast spread was good and we enjoyed our 4 mornings of good breakfast. It is Japanese style mixed with some western, there are juices, tea, coffee and desserts. The staff serving breakfast was very polite and neat. What we like best is the private room Japanese dinner which we enjoyed for the 3 nights. Very exclusive and different night, different menu. On our last night our dinner was changed from 2nd floor to the 10 floor which allow us to see the night scene of this little town. I highly recommend this for family or honey moon couple. We booked 3 rooms and requested for our rooms to be next to one another and the hotel helped us with this request. The Onsen in this Ryoken was clean and comfortable both indoor and outdoor. Walking from Tendo station to here is about 15 mins. The room is super comfortable, clean, shower and WC separated, well furnished in Japanese style. If I have a chance, will return.

Tsukinoike ligt in Kaminoyama, op 15 km van skigebied Zao Onsen, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. Deze ryokan met 3 sterren biedt roomservice en een bagageopslagruimte. Everything about it. The moment you enter the Ryokan, how welcoming the staff, being served nice cold welcome drinks and hot towels as the check in process happened at the sofa and not at a counter. This Ryokan though small in size provides the homely feel. The meals (dinner and breakfast) were both excellent. We enjoyed it very much.The public bath was nicely decorated too. The owners of the Ryokan definitely placed a lot of efforts to it's design, decorations etc. My husband and I wished we were staying another night instead of our overnight stay. We will return.
