Run by a really friendly couple who went out of their way to welcome us. The rooms are mini apartments with comfortable furnishing and bed, fully equipped kitchens, TV and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was amazing, fresh local produce and plenty of it. They have a nice quiet rooftop area with a small pool The area is tucked away in a local residential area but very central - just around the corner from the large hotels like Iberotel and Winter palace and less than 5 minutes walk to the riverfront. It is a real gem and without a doubt the best place to stay in Luxor. Unlike in big touristy hotels or unreliable homestays, here you are treated like a valued guest in a beautifully designed, small palace. The location. Away from the tourist hassle of the East Bank, Tasneem Palace is a rare calm haven in a quiet and authentic neighbourhood, surrounded by gardens and green fields. Still, with the ferry within walking distance, everything on both sides of the river is convenient to reach. The building and the rooms. Impeccable cleanliness, well-maintained and beautifully designed in every detail, Tasneem Palace stands out from Luxor's other accommodations. The room was spacious and had an incredible dome design while the AC worked smoothly even during the summer heatwave. The rooftop terrace overlooking the lovely garden is simply amazing, especially in the morning and during sunset. The hospitality. Mahmoud is a caring, friendly and professional host - treating you like a family guest from the very first moment. He organized an efficient and interesting tour to Luxor sites (highly recommended!) and was always available to help me with travelling and planning. The food. There are a few small shops and restaurants nearby, however, missing the outstanding breakfast and dinner would be a real mistake! For breakfast, each day a plentiful and varied cooked meal is offered. The fantastic homemade dinner is simply the best food I have encountered in Egypt so far: each day there is a completely different selection of meals (composed of multiple different, traditional, home-made dishes every day), accompanied by freshly made fruit juice (of course, varied every time!). In my case, the dinner was served privately on the rooftop terrace, always scheduled according to my request - making a highlight for a long day.
