The cottages are located not too far from Vìk, but it was great to be outside of the village. The position was really convenient, it was possible to park right next to the cottages, and there was a very friendly dog to welcome us. Also, the host gave us very precise instructions for the check-in and also some tips about what to visit and which activities to do close by.

Surrounded by the continuous landscape of South Iceland, Skammidalur Guesthouse offers accommodation only 7 km from Vík. You can view Reynisdrangar, Reynisfjall and Dyrhólaey from the property.

Everything was great. the cottage looks better than the picture in booking.com. It was warm inside, coffee machine with a lot of capsules, tea and kitchen for light cooking. 2 of 5 cottages are in red colour. near to Vik

It was tiny, but all facilities were well equipped. The guest’s book inside the cottage was quite funny. If there was having aurora light, this location would be a good spot. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any at last.

Lovely, comfortable 2 bedroom apartment. Didn’t match the photos from the booking but was actually much nicer than we expected. Comfortable beds, plenty of space in the living area. Very nice host who showed us around and left us free homemade jam, cheese and waffle batter for breakfast. Location was great, in a very quiet area just a short walk from restaurants and the black sand beach.
