Self Catering Accommodation in Mhamid

Absolutely recommended! We were picked up as agreed and the drive to the camp was impressive. The bumpy ride through the impressive landscape with the smell of wild rocket. And then the music from the radio, it still echoes ... :) The camp is located between the dunes. The food was tasty and plentiful, and the hospitality was warm. our hosts Mohamed and Ali told us impressive and exciting stories about life on the edge of the desert in the past and today. Next time we will stay longer than two nights…

Camp provided a guide to help us get to Erg Chigaga. Was a magical experience. Staff very helpful and camp deep in the Sahara desert.

We had the best Sahara experience we could ever imagine. The camp has everything you need and makes your trip way more special. The cabins are super comfortable and the food is amazing. At first we wanted to stay one night but we ended up going with the host more deep into the dessert and stayed there for another night. Our host Aziz took great care of us, thought along with us and made our trip so magical. We got a private 4x4 tour, he made us feel like home and told us everything about the Sahara culture.

We had a wonderful time visiting the desert! We booked with Aziz and ended up going with his brother Ali. He made sure we had everything we needed and that we were well looked after. Aziz also helped us to arrange taxi transfer from Ouarzazate airport, and welcomed us at his home before heading into the desert by 4x4. We saw camels and the changing landscape on the way to the desert which was extraordinary. When we arrived at the dunes, we had time to explore, take pictuers and wander around. There were sand board provided too but we were so excited to look around that we compeltely forgot to use them! The camp itsself is much better than I expected! The tents are large with double beds, and there is an outhouse with western style toilets, running water and showers (which I did not expect, but was very glad for!). We watched the sun set over the dunes and had dinner under the stars. Food and water was included in the price we paid. I was initially a little nervous about spending the night in the desert, for anyone who is considering but is unsure: do it!! you will not regret if you go with Aziz! Bottom line is I would definitley recommend this experience!

This one is long overdue, but the time has come. I made my decision to book a tour with Mhamid Tours based on a singular review among the masses, a Danish guy who had a lot of nice things to say. I had a lot of time to prepare, and the guides were welcoming even before meeting me. Talking on the phone to answer questions was never an issue, and every concern I had was met with understanding and reassurance. An unexpected and unfortunate circumstance led to another guide showing me around the desert, a total of 5 days. Mbark was welcoming from our first meeting and radiated positive energy throughout our entire trip . He showed me how nomads navigate using the stars, how dromedaries get water during the warmer months, and how local nomadic families live and get by in 2025. An unforgettable experience few people will have in their lifetimes. My greatest surprise was the excitement of every person we met. It seemed to me that any and every person in the sahara is first and foremost excited to show you their lifestyle, and their generosity is unmatched. My favorite memory of my trip to morocco will be my night with a nomadic family, eating local dates and goat(?) cheese, and waking up in the middle of the night to an unfiltered view of the milky way for the first time. Mhamid tours will make any and every adjustment necessary so you, the customer will have an unforgettable experience. You can not go wrong with Mhamid tours. As a word of caution. An unfortunate yet common occurrence is that numerous guide on the way down to Mhamid, in the larger cities, will try to persuade you to book with them. I heard several lies and hyperboles on my city to city trip to Mhamid, telling me that the guides in Mhamid are a danger to tourists.. This is a complete lie, and i would trust any person in Mhamid ahead of everyone else in morocco when it comes to the desert lifestyle and safety. Common sense would dictate that those born in the desert know how to survive the desert.

The best sleep I had that week. Place is amazing, you can walk accros the 'river' from town to get here don't be like me that I walk the road XD. Madani the owner is amazing, the story of the place is very inspiring even more when Madani tell it. He is such a nice and welcoming man, always happy to talk and help. Both host are incredibly warm and friendly. The place is SO Beutiful and full of vegetation in the middle of the oasis, you can see some small dunes but is such a nice place to just go and chill but feel like home. The guy to cooks Breakfast and dinner is one of the best cookers in Morocco honestly.
