The Gite was set back away from a very quiet country lane surrounded by the gardens and fields. It had everything you could possibly need with a well equipped kitchen. The owners had provided a selection of local products, which was a lovely touch. The dresser in the kitchen included a photo so you knew where to put stuff back. The flower pot couple kept an eye on things in the garden.

The Chateau is beautifully located on top of a hilly meadow, in a wonderful park that you can admire while driving up the lane - all the more so when you do this on a bike! ;-) The gorgeous interiors are carefully renovated in an authentic style. The Danish hosts are attentive to your every need, even beyond the usual! They also care for the interaction of their guests with each other (for example with a joint apéro moment, for those willing) or with the monument itself (we could benefit of a guided tour on the Chateau, its history and renovation). Breakfast is delicious, with a wealth of local products (including honey from the park's own beehives). Such excentric location is obviously a bit distant from the centre of Bagnoles, but a powerful electric bike of the Chateau will get you there easily, if you wish! Worthwhile to mention that the owners have also made substantial efforts to make the exploitation of the Chateau green and sustainable for the local environment.

Beautiful rooms with very comfy beds. Jonathan and Isabelle really looked after us. We had a lovely breakfast and enjoyed relaxing in the lounge in the evening. A special place!

This property was the perfect venue for our large family to take a break. An oasis in a rustic rural location. Lots of room to accommodate a big family like ours with grandkids included. Everyone loved it. The pool, sauna and hot tub facilities were great. After a day exploring the local area we could chill out in the spa and enjoy drinks on the terrace. Amazing countryside location. The lake was teaming with fish. Watch out for the pike. Our bird app, merlin, registered 26 species of bird life. Some quite rare. We were lucky that the trees were bearing fruits. Oh and the local cider museum was 5 mins cycle ride away, and was fascinating. The cider was great too. The nearby villages were beautiful. Local bakers in Cauce produce the best ever croissants. The town of Lassey les chateaux had everything from supermarket to the the chateaux itself. Within approx 90 mins you have the stunning towns of Caen or St Malo. Steeped in history. Fabulous restaurants. Seafood heaven. We also made a visit to mont St Michel. Whilst we hit the summer peak regards numbers of tourists, it was stunning. Well worth the trip.
