We had a wonderful stay at Kubuhill Sunset Bungalow in Nusa Penida and can highly recommend it! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making us feel welcome. Renting a scooter directly at the accommodation was super easy, making it simple to explore the island at our own pace. We also loved the location: it’s just a short walk to Vegan Soul Kitchen, one of the best restaurants on Nusa Penida, and the sunsets from the bungalows are absolutely magical. Everything was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained — with a peaceful atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Thank you to the whole team — we’d love to come back!

stayed with my parents during Dec 2024. The double rooms with sea view is so nice… the pool is just at your door step. Too bad it was raining a lot so didn’t really get to see the mountain. The staff were friendly and helpful - they helped with arranging shuttle bus to harbour or dive resort. Restaurant food was delicious - loved the fish & chips. Complimentary daily breakfast with lots of options. In-room Balinese massage was good and very affordable. Room was spacious with nice touches - especially loved the pouch with goodies they prepared. Will come back if I’m back to Nusa Penida. Thanks to the Mambo team :)

The resort is cute with nice houses situated around the pool. You're in the middle of the jungle, but if you've rented a scooter still close to any restaurants etc. The family is always available to help with anything and is very kind. We even got a coconut as a suprise a couple of times when we were at the pool. The room was clean, the wifi worked well and the breakfast was simple but tasty.

As opposed to many of the other resorts on the island, Deep Roots fits very well into the environment. It feels private and zen in all the right ways. The staff were nothing short of incredible, and we left feeling like a part of the family. The owners were on site more often than not, and always up for a chat. We went diving with Deep Roots as well, which felt safe and authentic, and we could tell that the instructors valued the environment in a way that many do not. They also organized a day trip around the island for us. Regardless of what we wanted or needed, a solution was found. Everything you will need in a stay on Nusa Penida, you will get at Deep Roots. The reality of this place goes far beyond the pictures. The bungalow is spacious and clean, the open air bathroom is a gem. Many options for breakfast. The staff is super friendly and helpful at providing advices: ask them for tours and transports. The location is easily accessible from the port.
