Spa Hotels in Male City

We've spent a week on the island, in the end of December including Christmas. This was a very good time to visit the resort, as there are a number of festive activities including Santa's visit and presents for kids, Christmas dinner and lunch and some other singing and dancing events. Get a beach villa, as it is closer to restaurant and bar area, has its own beach and small terrace and safer for kids. Very important, villas on north-west side of the island are much better - the beach is bigger, wider, has less sharp corals and most importantly - almost no waves and wind. Other sides of the island are much more windy and the beaches are shallow and surrounded by wave splitters. Villas 415-430 are the best places on the island. Resort is quite new (built in 2022), so everything is looking great, staff is making sure that everything is clean and well-maintained, beaches are all nice and sharp corals are being removed from the sand almost daily. Villas are also looking great, cleaned daily, if needed. The AC is very quiet and keeps the villa as cool as you'd like it to without blowing directly to your neck. Wi-Fi is relatively ok, streaming is blocked, but video calling works effortlessly. Restaurant is spacious, so even though the resort was full we always found a place to sit. Choice of meals is pretty big, separate sections for Indian and International cuisine + an Asian corner with dishes from Maldives, Indonesia, China, etc. Choice of desserts is pretty big as well. Bar area is surprisingly nice, with great pool, big set of sun beds (never had to search for a free one) and a small beach. Bar is serving drinks and cocktails, and you can ask for a cocktails even if it's not on the list of free ones. During evenings the bar area is the usual place for events, live music and overall buzz. Shout to an excellent live band, you are amazing :)! Thanks a ton to all the staff of the hotel and yes, cannot recommend OBLU enough, great holiday!

Location and attention to detail.

We opted for a 2 bedroom overwater pool villa, a large and comfortable family home with a living, two large bedrooms with adjacent bathrooms, and with an amazing view and pool terrace overlooking endless blue waters. We were fully take care of from the moment we arrived at Velana Airport until and including our check in there for our flight back home. The whole atmosphere at Hilton Amingiri is one of friendly and high quality service. Guest Experience Manager Amine provided us with all the information we needed about activities and restaurant options, made reservations for us, and picked us up when we needed a ride. The Habitat restaurant offers the most widely thinkable range of breakfast options as well as dinner buffets. Hassan and Benjo took great care of us during various watersports activities. Evening tennis games were perfectly hosted by the staff at there. All of this in a setting of tranquil, white beaches and a picture perfect blue sea. We opted for the half board option and found this to be really pleasant and comfortable including the possibility to dine at the various restaurants at the resort.

When we travel, we want to discover the world and see as much as possible of our travel destination. We never stay at one hotel and we don't care much about the hotel selection. That is completely different in the Maldives: your hotel is your travel destination. The selection of the hotel is very important and I did a lot of research. Oblu Select has very good reviews but we were scared about the potential downsides or hidden flaws. Well...We could not find any! This hotel is THE best. We loved our stay. It was beyond our expectations and we didn't notice points of improvement. We had a water villa with pool and the room was so pretty. Just amazing! The staff was also very friendly and helpful. I have never experienced something like that. Our host Mayrem was the sweetest. She was always there for us and helped us with whatever request we had. At the same time, she kept enough distance to respect our privacy. Every staff member was so sweet, helpful, respectful and caring. But without being pushy or indiscreet. The food was delicious and has the highest quality. There was enough variety: buffet, à la carte, live cooking and different restaurants. Eating at Oblu Select is an experience in itself. The underwater restaurant was a very special experience! It was great! We also recommend the floating breakfast and private movie night. The spa facilities are top notch. So professional and beautiful at the same time. I love the fact that this hotel is small-scale and has quiet/discreet/respectful quests. It never felt crowded. You can truly relax at this hotel because it avoids all 'party elements': no loud music, no club, no nightly events...Loud music and parties would be contradictory to the peaceful vibes of this hotel and island. If you realy need loud music or a party, you can visit the other island (connected by a bridge). The fact that this hotel is 'Adult Only' makes a huge different as well. No crying, no screaming, no tantrums.

Baros Maldives: A True Paradise Having heard rave reviews about the Maldives and Baros, I was eager to experience it firsthand. As I stepped foot onto the island, I was struck by its breathtaking beauty. The resort is immaculately maintained, with stunning scenery and crystal-clear waters. The lagoon offers an unforgettable snorkeling experience, teeming with an incredible array of marine life. Our family had a really great time exploring it. The culinary options are diverse and delicious, catering to every taste. The breakfast was one of a as our best moment of the day. What truly sets Baros apart, however, is its exceptional service. Every staff member is attentive, helpful, and dedicated to providing top-notch hospitality. Our butler, Reema, was outstanding – sharing the island's history, Maldivian culture, and expertly guiding us on excursions. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and at home ~ it's a truly unforgettable experience.

If you want a genuine maldives holiday, with sandy floors , no news no shoes and great service , this is the resort for you. Fantastic dive centre.

It’s very beautiful and the staff are so kind and welcoming. The facilities are also lovely. The villas are gorgeous and spacious.

Usually we don’t write text reviews, but it was absolutely an unforgettable experience at Joy Island, which exceeded all of our expectations. Beside high standards of cleanliness and the amazing sunset views from the Lagoon Suite room, we could really feel unique attention to details, friendliness and professionalism of the whole staff. It would be impossible to mention every staff member who contributed to our stay, but we would like to personally and especially appreciate all great efforts from Shahil (our Island Host) and manager Jauzee, our villa attendant Rasheed, always welcoming smiles of Gracia, Gita and Destiny at the restaurant, superb fruit service spiced up with fun of Udaya, delicious pastas of Davide, ice creams and kindness of Remi, and always exceptional service of Reethu at Rainbow Bar. Thanks for making our stay special, we will return for sure!
