We had a room at the other side of the road that gave us a lot of privacy. We loved the private jacuzzi and the mountain view. The staff was very friendly and the food was divine.

Everything!! The location, the property, the decor, the spa, the villa we stayed in….’Stella Villa’, the breakfasts were..…OMG unbelievable, and of course the owners, Randolph and Evelyn. They were just super and very down to earth - the perfect hosts!

this place is gorgeous! The house is absolutely charming, the interior is beautiful with love to details, so much to discover and the garden is amazing. we felt absolutely welcome, Bryden gave us lots of good tips, made restaurant bookings for us and was such a nice host. Hans - the chef - made lekker breakfast and surprised us every morning with something else. also the christmas dinner was so lovely and delicious. we stayed 4 nights and loved that we met new people around the globe every morning ok the breakfast table. This place is truly special and we will be back for sure !

Loved the room layout, the braai area, lounge and bathrooms and the kitchen was very well stocked with all the necessities. Like the jacuzzi downstairs as well and was very welcome in the cold weather.

From the moment I was greeted with a warm welcome, I was made to feel right at home. Each meal was prepared with care and attention to detail, and the ingredients were fresh and locally sourced. I particularly enjoyed the breakfasts, which were a perfect way to start each day. The dinners were also a highlight, with a great variety of options to choose from. The tranquil gardens surrounding the hotel were a true oasis of calm. It was lovely to take a stroll through the gardens and simply relax and unwind in such a peaceful setting. I even stayed in one day just to enjoy the serene calmness of the place! Overall, I cannot recommend the Montagu Country Hotel highly enough. The staff, the food, and the tranquil gardens all exceeded my expectations, and I will be returning in the future. It truly is a hidden gem in the heart of Montagu.
