Nacula Island
Oarsmans Bay Lodge offers accommodation in Nacula Island an adult-only resort, for 18 years and above.
All rooms include a seating area to relax in after a busy day and all feature views of the sea. The rooms have a private bathroom.
The location is paradise on Earth, with a beautiful bay full of light blue and turquoise colors, white sand, a clean sea, palm trees, like in the posters we put on the wall, where we want to go. The bay in front of the resort is good for swimming without corals and rocks, and you don't need water shoes. Corals are very close by, so you can go diving and snorkeling as well. I stayed in a hostel, because I wanted to stay longer and not pay too much for accommodation. The dorm is actually a very spacious room, divided by small walls into 'bedrooms'. You have enough space for luggage and a wonderful view of the bay each morning. It is clean and well-ventilated. The resort is aesthetically decorated in a natural manner, and there is always nice, not too loud Fijian music in the background. You can see in the garden very interesting sculptures made from coconut shells and wood. Gardeners are real artists. There are some activities, like swimming in caves, learning about local medicine plants, weaving palm tree baskets, and a visit to a local village. There is a small concert with a cava ceremony on Sundays. All activities are done by staff from the resort. Those are multi-talented people with a great hospitality attitude. Food is good and healthy. They have a cute doggie, Rosie, and a friendly cat, Chrissy. The main management staff give them food to eat and cleans them of parasites. They also have goats right behind the resort, and you can go to see them, too. Everyone is nice and approachable. Even though this is a tourism resort, and of course, money is important, in the Oarsman, somehow, you feel they take care of the well-being of guests, and you feel a personal connection with the staff. You see them, they see you, so you have some feelings about authentic Fijian people, and that they have good care about you. As a solo female traveler in a foreign land and a distant island, I felt safe.

The room is special with a garden that leads directly to the beach. The outdoor shower is stunning! The room is clean and equipped with every comfort. However, the highlight of the resort is the staff, who are truly exceptional: attentive to every need, hospitable, and incredibly kind. It was our honeymoon, and they prepared the room with a welcome gift. Truly fantastic. The breakfast is superb, and so is the dinner. We recommend this place 100%.

Meal packages are also available, if preferred. The staff here felt like a group of friends. Getting to know them and speaking to them was the best part of our trip. They all helped me do a proposal that me and my fiance will cherish for the rest of our lives and went out of their way to tailor our experience of these islands to something really beautiful. They looked after us and made sure we were always comfortable and happy, which must be a lot of effort. We'd love to go back, and we can't say thank you enough to each one of them for how friendly and caring they were towards us. Even the wild dogs felt like friends, one of the most beautiful and enjoyable experiences of our whole life. Too many names to say individually, from the office to the massage therapist, activities, waiters, and office, everyone contributed to our unforgettable experience. Thank you for everything! This is paradise in the South Pacific. The ratio of guests is excellent - it truly feels not busy and extremely relaxing. (No queuing for breakfast etc) The kids club is magical, my kids 5 and 4 really enjoyed their time there and made some new friends The visiting reiki master was a wonderful surprise, I enjoyed it so much. The spa is absolutely divine - try the hot shell massage you won’t be disappointed
The Lagoon bure was Fijian syle, very spacious, clean, it is separate in its own garden setting.. The accommodation is all set out in beautiful grounds but stll close to its own beach, restaurants and marina facilities Beautiful staff and management. We were a group of 31 and everyone felt relaxed and their needs well catered for. We will be going back.
OBS: this review is about a room different from the one we booked. There was a problem in the room and we were moved to one of the new bures being built, facing the beach. If you can, try one of the rooms by the beach; the ones in the garden are dated and in need of renovations. The resort is in a gorgeous location, great are for snorkelling and diving. The area around the bar/restaurant is beautiful, with great view and plenty of space to relax.
Great for snorkelling you dont need to swim far to see amazing fish we even saw reef sharks. Spa massage was amazing
I really liked our appartment but there need a little bit a renovation in the bathroom. Anyway the room was all the time cleaned. Staff was all the time smiling and nice to us. I have to say about SPA. The ladies are excelent and I recommend to go at least for some massage. Location beautiful and quiet. Very relaxing resort and good sleeping there. We saw the sharks close to the beach and it was something. I have nothing more to mention because we caught very bad weather.
The location is amazing along with the fact it is a small resort with plenty of space with the beach and a few pools. There is a very relaxed vibe to the resort, which is helped by the amazing staff who were very attentive. There is plenty of good food and choices for the children. Shout out to the kids club staff who made our daughter feel comfortable, safe and made sure she had a good time. The massages were amazing too!
Lovely staff. Great spa facilities, amazing massage. Really good breakfast. Bed really comfortable.
It’s a beautiful location and the staff are so incredibly helpful and lovely. It was raining heavily while we were there so they had to deal with a lot of the guests being inside a lot of the time. The activities were great and I can highly recommend the massages at the retreat spa. Out of the food — the breakfast buffet was good and some of the dinner buffet also quite good.
