Really lovely location with very comfortable bed. The bathroom was great with a big bath and shower that had good pressure. Nice toiletries to use and warm fluffy towels. We really enjoyed the pool and spa too. I personally felt that the rooms in the new building were nicer. They were definitely bigger with a garden view too. We stayed in room 16 which was fab!

This 14th century country house hotel, is set in the heart of the Sussex Downs in the village of Alfriston. The Alfriston Hotel is by far the best we’ve experienced. The style is elegant, the staff incredibly welcoming, and the room was spotless and beautifully designed. We loved the peaceful spa and the delicious breakfast every morning. Everything was just perfect – we felt truly cared for. The village of Alfriston itself is charming and full of character – the perfect setting for a relaxing escape. We will definitely be coming back!

We've stayed at this hotel before as it is one of our favourites. We all agreed this was the best, due to the professionalism, charm & attitude of all the staff. Beds are really, really comfy. The food has also improved and our breakfasts & meal were delicious. Spa & pool great. I particularly love the candles and the scent as you enter the hotel. At this time of year the roaring fires are lit early so we were tempted to sit in the bar all day! It means it all feels really relaxing & welcoming.

I was really tired when I arrived after a long drive, The receptionist on the desk was truly lovely and helped me with my bags to my room. Room was on the second floor and was big and comfortable Lovely view of the lake. I used the pool which was lovely and quiet. The food at breakfast was excellent. Lovely business stay.
