A real Italian country house in a village near Florence with breathtaking views from the windows, the garden and the surrounding Tuscany. We only spent two nights here. Managed directly by the owner, Albergo Palazzo Squarcialupi is a 15th-century building in Castellina in Chianti. It offers a garden with outdoor swimming pool, and a spa. Excellent. Great location, comfortable bed, huge room. Amazing breakfast and nice staff.

At the end of a Tuscany tour this was a lovely and peaceful setting in the heart of Chianti with some great views overlooking the vines, amazing food in the restaurant and some exceptional wines complete with a wine tasting and wine shop so we could return with some of the amazing Antinori wines from our trip. Staff such as Annalise were super nice looking after us and hosting our wine tasting. The receptionist also gave some great advice to visit Badia a Passignano which was a great way to spend our last morning too.

A former 16th-century farmhouse surrounded by vineyards, Locanda Le Piazze is now a small, luxurious, boutique hotel 6 km from Castellina in Chianti. Locanda Le Piazze was one of the most magical places on our Italian adventure. After the hustle & bustle of the cities, the Tuscan landscape was the ideal remedy. The hotel is ridiculously gorgeous - every corner is beautiful: the restaruant, gardens, pool, bar, foyer, main house - & the rooms are just perfect! The ideal, picture-book Tuscan dream. The staff were beautiful & just so welcoming : Zory was amazing (helpful, informative, sweet & kind) & makes a perfect espresso! The other staff were exactly the same - just lovely. Food was delicious - breakfast was perfect, dinners fabulous - highly recomend 'Bistecca Night'. This was absolutely luxury - we will definately be back.
